Qualification Awarded

Students are entitled to have an undergraduate certificate/diploma who are succesfully complete programme courses (total 240 ECTS) and achieve at least 2.00 GPA from 4.00 grade system

Specific Admission Requirements

It is needed to succeed in the exam conducted by OSYM for the acceptance to the universities in Turkey.

Qualification Requirements

In order to obtain a degree in nursing program, students must coplete all compulsory and elective lessons (a total of 240 ECTS credits) successfully and his /her overall grade point average must be at least 2.0

Recognition of Prior Learning

Recognition of prior non-formal and in-formal learning is at the beginning stage in Turkish Higher Education Institutions. Exams of exemption are organised at the start of each year at the University for the courses of English Language and Computer Skills. The students who have completed the proficiencies for these courses on his/her own or through other means, and believe that they have achieved the learning outcomes specified are given the right to take the exemption exam. The students who achieve a passing grade from these exams are held exempt from the related course in the curriculum.

History

Muğla University School Of Health, Nursing Department was established in 2002 and active education began in 1995-1996 education-training year.

Profile of the Programme

The individual, family, and community health protection, development and disease in the case of improvement for the purpose of nursing services in planning, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and these services instead of the people who bring in training Nurses to train.

Program Outcomes

1- Be capable of deducing importance of human and human health
2- Be in possession of the knowledge about the role and functions of nursing to meet the needs of health care of individual, family, group and community.
3- Be capable of transfering the theorical knowledge to practice
4- Be able to analyze the relationship between physiological functions, emotion, behavior and the environment with a holistic approach in healthy and / or sick individual
5- Be able to specify the factors and risks that affect human health, diagnose earlier from health deviations
6- Be capable of the therapotical communication, autonomy, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
7- Be in possession of the necessary training and management skills for planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing services.
8- Understand the importance of interdisciplinary interaction and team work
9- obey the existing laws and regulations of nursing professional ethics codes,
10- Be in possession of adequate understanding about service quality, quality management and testimonium application.
11- Be capable of adopting life-long learning and become role models to their colleagues
12- review national and international professional researchs and contribute developing of nursing profession
13- Be able to use the information and communication technologies required level of nursing.
14- hold verbal and non-verbal communications skils with others collogues and instutions for sharing ideas and suggestions to solute problems
15- attach importance to universal value and hold enough awareness health ,environment ,and secure issues.

Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading

% 40 percent of the midterm grade and % 60 percent of the final exam grade add up to the overall passing grade. Students are required to take a mid-term examination and/or complete other assigned projects/homework during the semester and, additionally, are required to take a final examination and/or complete a final project for course evaluation.The assessment for each course is described in detail in “Individual Course Description”. The midterm examinations are compacted and given in the 8th week of the semester. In addition to midterm examinations and other work, students are required to take a final examination. Final examinations are held at the appropriate place and hour as decided. Forty percent of the midterm grade and sixty percent of the final exam grade add up to the overall passing grade. Students must attend classes, practices and examinations. Students' attendance is followed by the Instructor of the course. Graduation Requirements

Students must obtain a grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 and successfully pass all courses on the programme (equivalent to a total of 240 ECTS).

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Students who have successfully completed four years of undergraduate education, titled as a nurse. After graduated from this department, nurses has the chance to work in center, clinics and hospitals where diagnosis, treatment, care, and rehabilitation services can be offered, institutions providing health education and counseling, departments of school health, occupational health, elderly health, health insurance, environment, tourism and health services in the fields of forensic medicine the pharmaceutical industry. Also they have opportunity to work as health care, education and the management with academic education

Access to Further Studies

The graduates holding Bachelor’s Degree are eligible to apply to Master’s Degree programmes provided that a valid point of ALES examination and a sufficient level of foreign language knowledge.
