Qualification Awarded

Public Relations and Publicity, Associate Degree.

Specific Admission Requirements

Students who have passed the university entrance exam organized by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) and who prove it with valid documents are accepted.

Qualification Requirements

Students who wish to enroll in the Public Relations and Publicity Program must complete their secondary education program. Students can be placed on the program with a university selection examination.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Students who have registered to other universities in Turkey or abroad, if they apply within the first week, credit and grade transfer requests will be evaluated by the board of directors and decided to cover all of their education once.

History

Ula Ali Koçman Vocational School, Department of marketing and Advertising, Public Relations and Publicity program 2012-2013 academic year with additional quota has received students.

Profile of the Programme

The student quota of the program is 60 people. The majority of students in the program are high school graduates. The training of the program is formal education.

Program Outcomes

1- To be able to define the basic concepts of Atatürk's principles and Revolution history, Turkish language and Foreign Language (English, German, French), General Business, Economics, General civilization history, psychology.
2- To have knowledge about communication, persuasion and non-verbal communication, which is the basic concept for public relations
3- Public Relations, Marketing Management, Integrated Brand Management, Corporate Communications, Public Relations practices and case studies, public relations, and application techniques, public relations management, corporate social responsibility, brand management, crisis communication and management, communication studies, advertising and media to define basic concepts in sociology and practical knowledge to be able to use
4- To be able to define problems by using basic knowledge and skills acquired in the field of public relations, to be able to recognize and analyze opportunities, to be able to interpret and evaluate them
5- To be able to direct his / her education to an advanced level of education in the same field or to a profession at the same level
6- Gain lifelong learning awareness
7- To be able to follow the information in his / her field and communicate with his / her colleagues by using a foreign language at the general level.
8- To be able to use information and communication technologies with the understanding of computer software at the level required by the field.
9- To have social, scientific, cultural and ethical values during the collection, implementation and announcement of data related to his / her field.
10- To be able to develop creative strategies by thinking critically about his / her field.
11- To be open to field-specific change and innovation
12- To be able to follow and analyze the media related to the field

Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading

Depending on the course requirements, evaluation is made on projects and written exams.

Graduation Requirements

The student must have achieved all the courses in the program. In this program, the student must provide a minimum of 120 ECTS credits and the GPA must be at least 2.00 out of 4.00.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

It is a four-semester higher education program aiming to raise qualified intermediate manpower. Graduates of Public Relations and publicity program are employed in the related departments of private sector and public sector enterprises, public and private sector administrations, municipalities, associations, rooms, bar associations, etc. They can also be employed in newspapers, magazines, radio, TV and public opinion research institutions.

Access to Further Studies

“Public relations and publicity” which is held by OSYM examination for vertical transfer of the undergraduate program if they pass the successful finishers; Visual Communication Design, Public Relations and Advertising, Public Relations and Publicity, Communication, Communication Sciences, Communication Arts, Communication Design and Management, Communication and Design, Advertising Design and Communication, Advertising, Sociology Department of advertising to make the transfer.
