Qualification Awarded

Upon successful completion of the graduate program "Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literature for" diploma in the field of expertise.

Specific Admission Requirements

The graduate program, students will be performing interviews. Number of students to be admitted to graduate programs and qualifications of candidates are announced prior to the beginning of each semester. A candidate's grade-level academic achievement; 50% of the ALES score, 25% of the undergraduate stage and grade point average is the sum of 25% of the interview notes.

Qualification Requirements

Program at least seven courses of not less than a total of 21 credits, consisting of a seminar course and thesis work. Graduate program consists of elective courses. The program is 120 ECTS credits in total. The students who complete the thesis in a shorter time, you can complete the learning related to the recommendation of the department and the Institute reasoned decision of the Board in less time. Mid and reports as well as in the course of final exams, assignments, quizzes, learning activities, such as seminars and project work can be used in the performance evaluation of the student's semester. Students who have failed courses, other graduate courses approved by the adviser may also receive can be registered again. In addition, courses such as consultants and the courses that are offered in the relevant institutes of the department chair of the proposal and the Institute Board of Directors with the approval of other higher education institutions can be selected, if it deems consultant is appropriate and necessary can also be selected from the doctoral program courses. The seminar course and thesis are non-credit according to the local credit system is considered successful or unsuccessful. Students must enroll each semester thesis from the beginning of the third semester. Master degree program in which the results obtained in the thesis dealing with a student, a letter in accordance with the rules of the institute's thesis and dissertation must be defended orally before a jury. After completion of the thesis examination jury decides by simple majority accept, reject, or give the jury's decision. The student whose thesis is decided by the required corrections within three months to complete the dissertation before the same jury.

Recognition of Prior Learning

The previous academic training of the students who have previously had an academic training in another university is recognized in the frame of the “Legislation of Council of Higher Education (YÖK) related to the Transition between the Programs from Associate Degree to Undergraduate Degree, Double Major Programs, Lateral Branch Programs and Fundamentals of Credit Transfer between Institutions” and the “Legislation of Mugla Sitki Kocman University about the Associate Degree and Undergraduate Degree Academic Training”. Apart from Formal Education Programs, Informal Education and Non-formal Education Programs which are based on certification and experience are not currently recognized. However, an Exemption Exam is organized for Foreign Language Lessons (English, German, French …etc.) in each of the academic programs at the beginning of the term. Students who think that they are sufficient enough for these lessons have the right of taking this exam. Students who are successful in this exam are kept exempt from the related lessons.

History

Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literatures Department of Graduate Education Program was opened in 1993-1994.

Profile of the Programme

The program mainly Central Asia, Caucasus and Balkan regions, including the Turkish state and the communities where they live, which was formed in yield of language and cultural research on materials which can be considered as literature, analysis and synthesis are performed. Active participation of students in terms of courses is essential.

Program Outcomes

1- Recognizes the historical periods of Turkish language and this time the sound, shape, syntax, morphology, in terms of comments

Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

The graduates of the program primarily Contemporary Turkish Dialects and Literature Departments, including the universities of Turkish Language and Literature Department, they can apply for a job as a research assistant. Assigned to other Turkish universities in their own countries the chance to work in comparative literature from the Republics of students is very high.

Access to Further Studies

Graduates who successfully complete the Master's program, the current note to take the ALES, need if they provide English language proficiency may apply to both the multidisciplinary field of doctoral programs in their respective fields and are accepted if they are successful in the interview.
