Specific Admission Requirements

Having an ALES and YDS/YÖKDİL/Toefl grade of at least 70. To be able to pass the basic programming before acceptance. To be a graduate of a Medicine, Engineering and Science related department. To have a GPA of at least 2.7

Qualification Requirements

To successfully complete 120.0 ECTS lessons of Bioinformatics Graduate Program. Having a GPA 3.00 from 4.00. Acceptance of master thesis.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Graduate transfer students due to their academic success, are accepted to our program within quota determined at the beginning of the academic year.

History

Our programme started accepting first graduate students in Fall semester of 2015-2016 academic year.

Program Outcomes

1- Ability of applying computer science , biological and biomedical science knowledge in bioinformatics area
2- To gain ability of analysis, comment, evaluation and dealing with theoretical and experimental studies in field, office and laboratory
3- To gain ability of designing and implementation of bioinformatics systems and elements
4- To obtain ability of working, execution and managing in interdisciplinary atmosphere with a team harmony
5- Ability of determining, defining and fixing bioinformatics problems
6- To understand and adopt the concept of professionalism, occupational ethics and responsibility
7- Ability of effective written and oral communication
8- Having ability of finding sustainable, local and global solutions to bioinformatics problems with integrated to environmental
9- Having awareness of learning is continuous and faith of preservation of this awareness
10- Knowledge of current and modern Bioinformatics topics
11- Ability of using modern bioinformatics tools needed for bioinformatics applications

Mode of Study

This bioinformatics graduate program aims students • to specialize in Bioinformatics by learning how to produce modern technologies and apply new technologies, • to prepare multidisciplinary projects that will be beneficial to our country's competitiveness in the international arena or to support this project, • to specialize in the design of personalized medicine products (translational bioinformatics), • to solve problems they encounter with outstanding communication and leadership skills, • to understand the scientific research process well by creating sufficient awareness of the latest research issues, • to make contributions to Bioinformatics by issuing scientific articles through their thesis, • to acquire competencies that can provide competent and effective state social services • to perform multi-disciplinary projects in collaboration with other disciplines who need to use their Bioinformatics knowledge • to contribute to the development of a national bioinformatics industry.
