Specific Admission Requirements

High school diploma and obtaining the required grade from National University Entrance and Placement Exam.

Qualification Requirements

A student is required to complete successfully the designated program of courses meet a minimum of 240 ECTS credit requirement and have a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00 and no FF, FD or TT grades.

Recognition of Prior Learning

The students who study at Mugla Sıtkı Koçman University may be exempt from some courses according to certain regulations. They may be exempt from the courses if the application is in time and the content is approved by the administrative board of the related vocational school/faculty/institute.

History

This program was established at 2001-2002 academic year.

Profile of the Programme

he aim of this program is to train individuals with a field and vocational training in the teaching process, a wealth of theoretical knowledge backed by universal values, analytical thinking ability, an advanced social responsibility and ethical understanding as well as who can work in the field of national and international field education, which can transfer ideas and policies to practice using the knowledge and skills acquired after graduation.

Program Outcomes

1- Able to plan lessons properly, regarding to the Turkish language teaching curriculum.
2- Able to organize learning environments for Turkish language teaching.
3- Able to use suitable materials and resources in Turkish teaching.
4- Able to use technological resources in Turkish teaching.
5- Able to motivate students to use Turkish language accurately and effectively.
6- Able to develop students’ listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
7- Able to use assessment and evaluation instruments for Turkish language teaching.
8- Able to interpret assessment and evaluation scores of students and able give feedback about students’ development process.
9- Able to monitor students’ development process in accordance with assessment and evaluation results.
10- Able to cooperate with community in bringing the school into a center of culture and learning.
11- Able to identify professional competencies.
12- Able to improve him/herself both personally and professionally.
13- Able to utilize scientific methods and techniques to improve him/herself professionally.
14- Able to perform a second language at the minimum level of (European Language Standarts) B1 to track the new studies in the field and communicate with colleagues.
15- Able to use informatics and communication technologies at an advanced level of european computer driving licence.

Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading

Exams are consisted of midterm, final and make-up exam. These exams could be oral, written, oral-application, written-application. For every course, at least one midterm is conducted at the semester. For each course, the format of assessment and evaluation is defined in detail in “Course Teaching Plan”.

Graduation Requirements

Students must obtain a grade point average of minimum 2.00 out of 4.00 and successfully complete all the courses (to get a total of 240 ECTS Diploma Supplement).

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

When students were graduated, they work as Turkish Language Teacher at schools in Ministry of National Education, and private schools.

Access to Further Studies

Candidates, who successfully complete their undergraduate education, can apply graduate school, if they get satisfactory point from ALES and YDS.
