A3) Regulatory Information: Acts as an individual and teacher in accordance with the legislation on rights and responsibilities. B) Professional Skills B1) Education Planning: Effectively plans educational processes. B2) Creating Learning Environments: Prepares appropriate instructional materials with healthy and safe learning environments for effective learning for all students. B3) Managing Teaching and Learning Processes: Carries out teaching and learning process effectively. B4) Measurement and Evaluation: Uses the methods and techniques of measurement and evaluation in accordance with its purpose. C) Attitudes and Values C1) National, Spiritual and Universal Values: Pays regards to national, spiritual and universal values. C2) Approach to the student: Exhibits supportive attitudes for students' development. C3) Communication and Collaboration: Establishes effective communication and cooperation with the students, colleagues, families and other stakeholders of education. Recognition of Prior Learning

The students who study at Mugla Sıtkı Koçman University may be exempt from some courses according to certain regulations. They may be exempt from the courses if the application is in time and the content is approved by the administrative board of the related vocational school/faculty/institute.

History

This program was established at 2001-2002 academic year. In addition to the undergraduate education lasting 4 years, the successful students continue their master's and doctoral studies in accordance with the Institute of Educational Sciences. In addition to strengthening the professional knowledge and experience of the students, our department also cares about their personal development, and their orientation towards sports, arts, communication and cultural activities that enhance their creativity and social relations.

Profile of the Programme

The Department of Primary Education, with its four-year undergraduate program, is based on the modern approaches to teacher training. • Having the basic knowledge, skills and skills necessary for the teaching profession • Follow the work done in the field • Scientific processes based on life • Access to information and convert information into production • High problem solving skills • Creative, innovative and entrepreneurial • Know and respect the common values ??of society • Can work in teams • Awareness of professional and ethical issues • Use different teaching methods and strategies in teaching processes • Know and apply measurement-evaluation approaches aims to train qualified teachers. For this purpose, the department provides courses related to both professional and field knowledge and general culture in order to ensure the academic development of prospective teachers. Since 2007, the BOLOGNA Process, which enables the citizens of the countries within the European Higher Education Area to study or study in Europe for the purpose of higher education or study, has begun to work on the harmonization of the European Higher Education Area. Students who will graduate will be granted a Diploma Supplement as of 2012. The University received the Diploma Supplement Label. Studies are in progress to obtain the ECTS label. The department aims to increase knowledge and experience by supporting exchange of students and academicians through bilateral agreements with internationally respected institutions. As of 2007, the Department has bilateral agreements within the scope of ERASMUS, FARABI and MEVLANA Student and Academic Exchange Program. The Department of Primary Education serves in the Faculty of Education Building and has 39 classrooms & Biology, Physics and Chemistry laboratories. In classrooms there exists; projector, overhead projector, smart board, etc. such as technological tools and internet connection. In the faculty, there is computer laboratories, science workplace classroom, coding and robotics classroom, mathematics class and a library where students of the department can utilize from. In the Faculty of Education, there are 2 groups and 5 individual psychological counseling rooms to serve the students by the academic staff of the related department. In the Department of Primary Education, there are 185 prospective teachers, 4 professors, 6 associate professors, 1 doktor research assistants, 1 lecturers and totally 12 academic staff.

Program Outcomes

1- Discusses the interaction between the disciplines that comprise the primary teaching field.
2- Uses information in the field of primary teaching and in the field of theory and practice, develops and deepens this information.
3- Creates new information based on Interdisciplinary approach.
4- Reviews plans and Issues related to the field of classroom teaching strategies, policies and implementation, evaluate the results in the context of quality processes.
5- Uses knowledge acquired in the field of classroom teaching in interdisciplinary settings.
6- Transfers developments in the field of primary teachers and their work, in the field and outside groups, by written, oral and visual forms.
7- Evaluates current developments in line with national values and realities of the country.
8- Develops new strategies and solutions when encounter unexpected situations and takes responsibility.
9- Continues to work in his/her field by taking into consideration of the framework of lifelong learning.
10- Has metacognitive awareness to critically evaluate information about the area and directs learning.

Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading

The assessment and evaluation methods applied for each course are defined in the Course Information Forms, which is prepared by the instructor /s of the course and is included in the information package. All measurement tools and examinations are evaluated with the Relative System based on the relevant articles of MSKU Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations. In accordance with Article 20 Paragraph 2 of this Regulation and 2. Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Relative Evaluation Implementation Directive;, in all departments and programs of our Faculty; Relative assessment supplementary limit (RASSL) is 35, the minimum limit of the raw achievement Score (MLRA) is 50 and the final exam limit (FEL) is 60. Students are required to attend a midterm (midterm) and final exam (Final) for each course. In some courses, in addition to the semester work; project, seminar, homework, presentation etc. It may be requested. Students who get one of AA, BA, BB, CB, CC, DC, DD letter grades from a course are successful in that course; Students taking FD, FF and TT are considered unsuccessful. Students whose GPA is lower than 1.80 cannot take a course that they have not taken before. Students who fail a course can take the make-up exam following the final exam.

Graduation Requirements

Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Associate, Bachelor's Degree Education and Examination Regulation was taken as the basis. The students who are entitled to graduation are given the diploma of the related program according to the provisions of the regulation. a) To successfully complete all the courses, applications and internships required by the program in which it is registered, in accordance with the provisions of the above regulations. 221 ECTS in Compulsory and 19 ECTS Elective courses in Science Teacher Education Program. b) Grade Point Average: At least 2 out of 4.00 c) To be not broken off from the university for the reasons stated in the related article (s) of this regulation.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

When students were graduated, they work as primary teacher at schools in Ministry of National Education, and private schools.

Access to Further Studies

Those who successfully complete their undergraduate education can start a master's program with or without thesis or an integrated doctoral program after undergraduate education (provided that they meet the admission conditions of the program they will apply to).

Mode of Study

Graduate / Full-time 1. Teaching (Normal Instruction) The aim of this program is to train individuals with a field and vocational training in the teaching process, a wealth of theoretical knowledge backed by universal values, analytical thinking ability, an advanced social responsibility and ethical understanding as well as who can work in the field of national and international field education, which can transfer ideas and policies to practice using the knowledge and skills acquired after graduation.
