Specific Admission Requirements

The candidates need to have a diploma taken from Education Faculty, Turkish Language Teaching departments or an equivalent graduation diploma, and they need to have 2.30 out of 4, or 65 out of 100 as grade point average (GPA), and students need to have 55 ALES standard score from the department that they have applied requires, or they need to have an equivalent score accepted by the Inter-universty Council (UAK). The evaluation and the placement of the master’s degree candidates will be done by EYK according to sum of %50 of ALES, %20 of undergraduate score, and %30 of the interview results.

Qualification Requirements

After ten theoretical courses (60 credits) taken during the program, students may graduate when they finish expertness field lesson and seminar courses successfully, and present their thesis.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Students who take courses at different universities as "graduate student" and whose registration is deleted, apply to Institu by Institu Science Council at the first week of semester in order to recognition of the courses. The recognition of courses and when students were required to start to education; total credits of courses in educational programs of recognized and successful notes were calculated is calculated by taking into account the number of semester courses correspond. History

Turkish Education Department Turkish Language Teaching Major Master’s Degree Program has started in 2003-2004 academic year, and started to accept students in the same year.

Profile of the Programme

During the process, studies have been conducted in order to follow the contemporary studies, support the field, and to develop the scientific way of thinking that each department requires in the Turkish Language Education department, Master’s program with thesis.

Program Outcomes

1- Able to develop compatible program with teaching / education of Turkish.
2- Able to create authentic materials compatible with Turkish Language Curriculum.
3- Able to use computer medium in teaching Turkish and can evaluate the results.
4- Able to construct conceptual schemas in the learning domains for teaching Turkish.
5- Able to use measurement and evaluation tools and methods in teaching Turkish.
6- Able to interpret the measurement-assessment results in order to determine the students’ language development and give feedback.
7- Able to transfer and apply the interpretations of measurement-assessment results to teaching environment.
8- Able to take advantage of scientific research methods in order his/her professional development.
9- Able to use advanced information and communication technologies at the level of european computer driving licence.
10- Able to use at least one foreign language in order to follow the field literature.

In this program, exam evaluation rules are different in each course. The content and load of each course may be different from the other

Graduation Requirements

This program is being with a thesis, and is composed of seven (10) courses which should not be less than twenty-one (60) credits, a seminar course and a thesis work.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Student who graduates from this department gets science specialist title.

Access to Further Studies

The master’s graduates who graduated from the same department may get PhD education from the same department provided they have been found satisfactory in the same field.
