Specific Admission Requirements

1-) Candidates; They have to be a graduate of the School of Sport Sciences, the School of Physical Education and Sports, the School of Sport Sciences and Technology or the Department of Physical Education and Sports, and they have to have a master's degree in Physical Education and Sports. 2-) The candidates who will apply for the Doctorate program in Physical Education and Sports; ALES must have a score of at least 65 points (EA). 3-) Candidates; They must have at least 55 points from YÖKDİL, ÜDS, KPDS or YDS, or at least equivalent from international foreign language exams accepted as equivalent by ÖSYM.

Qualification Requirements

Ph.D. program consists of at least 240 ECTS credits including at least seven courses, a seminar, a proficiency exam, a thesis proposal and a thesis. It occurs. For students who are admitted with a bachelor's degree, a total of 42 credits, 14 courses, a seminar, a proficiency exam, a dissertation proposal and a thesis study, a total of at least 300 ECTS credits.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Graduate transfer students due to their academic success, are accepted to our programme within quota determined at the beginning of the academic year.

History

The Physical Education and Sports PhD Program was opened on 25/02/2015 with the decision of the senate numbered 504/14 and started the education in the Spring semester of 2014-2015 Academic Year.

Profile of the Programme

The program aims to educate researchers who have enough scientific theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of Physical Education and Sports, who can plan and conduct a scientific research study on their own and reach a conclusion by interpreting the data obtained scientifically.

Program Outcomes

1-	Independent study skills in the field of Physical Education and Sports.

2-	Problem determination / solving in the field of physical education and sports, ability to solve hypothesis with experimental methods

3-	Be able to develop new strategic approaches in physical education and sports applications

4-	Be able to develop strategy, policy and implementation plans in areas related to the field and evaluate the obtained results within the framework of quality processes

5-	Comprehending professional, scientific and ethical values - Contributing to the promotion of information and developments related to Physical Education and Sports to relevant stakeholders (teachers, academicians, MoNE administrators, undergraduate and graduate students, etc.)

6-	To be able to transfer the current developments in the field of physical education and sports and their own work to the groups in the field and outside, in a written, oral and visual manner

7-	To be able to communicate oral and written communication with groups related to physical education and sports field on at least one foreign language

8-	Ability to use computer and communication technologies at advanced level as required by physical education and sports field

9-	Defend original opinions in discussions with experts on issues in the field and communicate effectively with competence in the field

Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading

Exams are consisted of midterm, final and make-up exam. These exams could beoral, written, oral-application, written-application. For every course, at least one midterm is conducted at the semester. Midterm and final exam rates are determined at the begining of each semester according to Institute Administration Council by instructor of the course or the suggestion of the instructurs having doctorate degree in senate.

Graduation Requirements

Successful in the examination and other requirements for the thesis to the bound copy of the thesis provided that the number of jury members to be given to members of the jury department / head of the department, two copies of bound thesis, two electronic copies of thesis and graduation documents saved in pdf format to the institute in the exam delivered within one month from the date of entry of the student, are eligible to receive Doctorate degrees.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Will be given the opportunity to start a career in foundation at universities due to Higher Education and in the physical education and sports fileds.

Access to Further Studies

Upon successful completion of third cycle program graduates, the same or similar areas in the country or abroad, an academic position in higher education institutions, public or private bodies may apply for specialist positions.

Mode of Study

The aim of the PhD program; The aim of this course is to provide the student with the ability to determine the necessary steps to have the competencies to perceive, design, implement and finalize a research process in an authentic subject independently from scientific dignity.
