Specific Admission Requirements

Having a high school or equivalent diploma and being successful in the university entrance exam held by ÖSYM and getting enough points.

Qualification Requirements

The education period of the faculty of dentistry is 5 (five) years. Until this period is completed, students must successfully pass all the courses in the education program for graduation and complete the ECTS credit required for each year.

Recognition of Prior Learning

For the Basic Information Technology Use, Turkish Language, Ataturk Principles and History of Revolution and Foreign Language courses included in the curriculum, students who pass the exemption exam held by the University at the beginning of each academic year are considered exempted from the related course. Acceptance and registration of those who want to transfer from other universities' dentistry faculties to the Faculty of Dentistry are accepted with a horizontal transfer according to the quotas determined by the Higher Education Council. The courses taken by students who transfer in the past and have equivalences are transferred, and their adaptation to the training program is provided by the Board of Directors.

History

Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Faculty of Dentistry was established on 29/05/2017 with the decision of the Council of Ministers numbered 10404 and started its undergraduate education in 2019 with 41 students.

Profile of the Programme

The aim of the faculty of dentistry is to train qualified dentists who adhere to ethical rules by teaching basic and clinical dentistry knowledge with a 5-year education.

Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading

Graduation Requirements

In order for students to graduate, they must complete all ECTS credits they need to take during their education. In addition, students who are successful in all theoretical courses and clinical applications are entitled to graduation.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Our graduates can work as dentists in 1) Ministry of Health, 2) in health units of some public and private sector institutions, and 3) in their own private practice. In addition, 4) By entering the DUS (Specialist Examination in Dentistry) exam, they can specialize in the departments they are entitled to take in the Faculty of Dentistry by completing their specialization education and obtain the right to make an academic career according to their success.

Access to Further Studies

1) By entering the DUS (Specialist Exam in Dentistry) exam, they can specialize in the departments they are entitled to take in the Faculty of Dentistry by completing their specialization education and obtain the right to make an academic career according to their success. 2) By enrolling in doctorate programs, they can get PhD degree and get the right to make an academic career according to their success.
