Qualification Awarded
Students are entitled to have an undergraduate certificate/diploma who are successfully complete program courses (total 240 ECTS) and achieve at least 2.00 GPA from 4.00 grade system.
Specific Admission Requirements
It is needed to succeed in the exam conducted by OSYM for the acceptance to the universities in Turkey.
Qualification Requirements
In order to obtain a degree in nursing program, students must complete all compulsory and elective lessons (a total of 240 ECTS credits) successfully and his/her overall grade point average must be at least 2.0.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Recognition of prior non-formal and informal learning is at the beginning stage in Turkish Higher Education Institutions. Exams of exemption are organized at the start of each year at the University for the courses of English Language and computer skills. The students who have completed the proficiencies for these courses on his/her one or through other means, and believe that they have achieved the learning outcomes specified are given the right to take the exemption exam. The students who achieve a passing grade from these exams are held exempt from the related course in the curriciculum.
History
The school was established by decision of (dated 10.10.1996 and 96/8655 numbered) the Council of Ministers in order to increase the efficiency of health services with at 1 st National Health Congress "Health Education Restructuring Project". School has gained legal personality when the director of the school was assigned at 02/04/1997 Department of Nursing has started its activities in academic year 1997-1998 when building and the fixtures has been received by decision of Protocol at 10/03/1997
Profile of the Programme
Classical education model is used in the Department of Nursing and education and training activities are carried out face-to-face.
In this context, the aims of our program are;
PA 1. As a professional member of the health team, he is employed in the preventive, curative and rehabilitative health care fields.
PA 2. Provides holistic nursing care in line with the health needs of the individual/family/society by using effective communication skills in line with professional ethical principles.
PA 3. Continuing their personal, professional and academic development with the awareness of lifelong learning.
Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading
%40 percent of the midterm grade and %60 percent of the final exam grade add up to the overall passing grade. Students are required to take a mid-term examination and/or complete other assigned projects/homework during the semester and, additionally are required to take a final examination and/or complete a final project for course evaluation. The assessment for each course is described in detail in "Individual Course Description". The midterm examinations are compacted and given in the 8th week of the semester. In addition to midterm examinations and other work students are required to take a final examination. Final examinations are held at the appropriate place and hour as decided. Forty percent of the midterm grade and 60 percent of the final exam grade add up to the overall passing grade. Students' attendance is followed by the Instructor of the course. Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Student who have successfully completed four years of undergraduate education, titled as a nurse. After graduated from this department, nurses has the chance to work in center, clinics, and hospitals where diagnosis, treatment, care, and rehabilitation services can be offered, institutions providing health education and counseling, departments of school health, occupational health, elderly health, health insurance, environment, tourism and health services in the fields of forensic medicine, the pharmaceutical industry. Also they have opportunity to work as health care, education and the management with academic education.
Access to Further Studies
The graduates holding Bachelor's Degree are eligible to apply to Master's Degree programs provided that a valid point of ALES examination and a sufficient level of foreign language knowledge.
