Fethiye Vocational School of Health Services Programme of First and Immediate Aid

Qualification Awarded

Students who have successfully completed all of the program courses (120 ECTS in total) and who have at least 2.00 grade point average over 4.00 are eligible to receive First and Emergency Assistance Technician Associate Degree diploma.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Exams of exemption are organized at the start of each year universty for the courses of English Language and Copmputer Skills. The students who achieve passing grade from these exams are held exempt from the related course in the cirriculum

History

It was deemed appropriate to open the meeting of Higher Education Executive Board on 04/02/2015 and the Law no. 2547 in accordance with article 7/d-2 amended by Law no. 2880

Profile of the Programme

Emergency ambulance, patient transport ambulance and other emergency aid vehicles, hospitals, clinics, etc. In all the emergency services to work in emergency medikal service in line with innovations in medicine constantly update their knowledge and skills to train technicians

Program Outcomes

1- Quickly reached scene in cases of sudden illness or injury, if any, with a doctor to assess the situations,if necessary, makes the initial treatment and transfer of appropriate hospital emergency depermant provides to correct method
2- Under the authority of the legislation, at the time of emergency patients and wounded, medical authorities regognized manuels and flow charts of the legislation pointed implements
3- Status of emergency medical services in the world and in Turkey, and the first aid and emergency technician knows the duties and responsibilities within this system
4- The patient and disease characteristic to prepare appropriate remedies, applies
5- Necessary records related to the patient, the amount properly
6- Calm at the scene, quick, series,and gives the right decision
7- Basic professional knowledge is the first and emergency technician
8- Comminucate verbally and in writing with patients, patients'  relatives and other health professional
9- Use knowledge and skills to protect both the patient and herself/himself psychologically and socially
10- Has the understanding of contunius professional development in line with professional and universal values
11- Adopts national and universal values as a principle in order to develop itself intellectually and socially
12- Have knowledge about quality improvement and qualty standards

Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading

Exams; midterm exam, final exam, excuse exam, make-up exam, exemption exam and single course exam. Midterm Exams: A mid-term exam is held for each semester. Midterm exam is 40% of the score. Final Examinations: At the end of the semester, students are expected to determine the success of the courses. Final exam evaluation is 60% of the score. Make-up Exams: Students who cannot take the mid-term or the final exams due to a valid excuse are given the right to excuse examination by the relevant board of directors. The student has applied to the dean's office / directorate within 3 days from the day of his / her excuse by making a petition based on the excuse for the acceptance of the excuse exam for the student. Make-up exams: Students are required to take the FD or FF grade at the end of the final exams and take the DD or DC grade and take the make-up exams. The grade taken in the make-up exam replaces the final exam grade of the course. The weights of midterm and make-up exams are calculated as in the final exams. In the courses that take the make-up exam, the last success grade is taken as a basis regardless of the previous grade. Exemption Examinations: The courses determined by the Senate are made on the dates specified in the academic calendar. Single Course Exam: Students who have fulfilled the continuation requirement for their graduation and who fail only one course can take one course exam from the failed course. In addition, in order to graduate, if the students who are successful in all the courses in the program they are enrolled in are not less than 2.00 because their GPA is below 2.00, they are successful to raise their GPA. can take a single course exam. One-time exam can be used once. For each course taken by the students, one of the following letter grades is given by the instructor assigned to carry out the course. Points for the Semester Semester / Year-End Achievement Grade Coefficient 90-100 AA 4 85-89 BA 3,5 80-84 BB 3 75-79 CB 2,5 70-74 CC 2 65-69 DC 1,5 60-64 DD 1 50-59 FD 0,5 49 and below FF 0 Assessments other than those mentioned above; TT-Absenteeism course, MM-Exempted course, GG-Pass, KK-Kalır, VV-Dropped Course. Tedir TT veril is given to the students who have not fulfilled the requirements for attendance in the courses and / or the practice. Students who are successful in the Foreign Language Preparatory Program Proficiency Exam are exempted from the common compulsory foreign language (English, German, French) courses and evaluated with ında MM lik. Ir GG G is given to students who are successful in internship studies in Foreign Language Preparatory Program and education program. Ir CC enc is given to students who fail in the internship studies in the Foreign Language Preparatory Program and education program. For the courses veril VV ilgili, which are removed from the education program or are not replaced by another course and do not have to be fulfilled, the proposal of the department chair is given by the decision of the relevant board of directors.

Graduation Requirements

Total of 120 ECTS/ECTS credits is by completing graduate program. Summer internship successfully. The overall grade average must be at least 2.00

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Health personnel emergency servis and patient transport ambulances in all public and private health institutions, universty hospital, call reception personnel in common control center and health personnel in hospital emergency servis

Access to Further Studies

Student graudating with a HEC associat's degree in accordance with relevant legislation, other universities about their areas of Emergency and Disaster Management, Nursing, Nursing and Health Care programs may apply and vertical transmission.
