Specific Admission Requirements

1) Being gradutated from Science Teaching or Science Education programs. 2) Having at least 2.40 cGPA score. 3) Having at least 65 ALES-SAY score. 4) Being successful in writen examination administered by the department.

Qualification Requirements

In order to enter final exam, students have to be participate in 70 % of theoretical and 80 % of application courses. In order to be successful in one course, students have to take CC (70-74) score. Students are required to be successful at least 7 courses, except Specialization Field Course and 1 seminar and thesis study. Recognition of Prior Learning

Students who take courses at different universities as "graduate student" and whose registration is deleted, apply to Institu by Institu Science Council at the first week of semester in order to recognition of the courses. The recognition of courses and when students were required to start to education; total credits of courses in educational programs of recognized and successful notes were calculated is calculated by taking into account the number of semester courses correspond. This duration is removed from maximum time for graduation as it is identified in 44th article of law. History

This program was established at 2001-2002 fall semester under Social Sciences Institute.

Profile of the Programme

The aim of this program is to provide knowledge, reach and deepen knowledge in a field based on bachelor's degree qualifications, access to information by scientific research, to evaluate, interpret and apply knowledge. In addition, this program is carried out in the form of formal education program.

Program Outcomes

1- Being able to have basic theoretical knowledge and skills regarding subject matter and pedagogical content knowledge.
2- Being able to recognize problems related to science education field and develop suggestions and aspects intended for solution of these problems.
3- Being able to apply scientific research methods and techniques as a process.
4- Being able to follow recent national and international studies in this field and to conduct comparative studies.
5- Being able to conduct qualitative and quantitative studies related to science education field.
6- Being conscious of scientific and ethical values.
7- Being able to understand, analysis and synthesis the transfer of knowledge related to science education interdisciplinary, using the information obtained access to new information.

9- Being able to advise can be realized related to solving problems about science education through using strategic decision making processes.
10- Being able to know and apply contemporary teaching methods and techniques and measurement-assessment methods.
11- Being able to follow current developments regarding science education field.
12- Being able to contribute to the development of literacy of public through using scientific, technological, social and cultural progress in the field of science education.

Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading

Exams are consisted of midterm, final and make-up exam. These exams could be oral, written, oral-application, written-application. For every course, at least one midterm is conducted at the semester. Midterm and final exam rates are determined at the begining of each semester according to Instituti Administration Council by instructor of the course or the suggestions of the instructors having doctorate degree in senate. Students graduate according to Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Graduate Education Regulations.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

When students were graduated, they work as science teacher at schools in Ministry of National Education and private schools.

Access to Further Studies

The graduates holding master's degree are eligible to apply to Doctorate degree only if they have sufficient ALES and YDS scores.
