Qualification Awarded
Students who successfully complete all of the Tourist Guidance program courses (total 120 ECTS) will have an associate degree.
Specific Admission Requirements
It is imperative that the students who will be admitted to the program are required to enter the country-wide examination regarding student admission in higher education. This exam is held once a year and organized by ÖSYM (Measuring, Selection and Placement Center). In this exam, student must earn enough points to be placed in the program from the relevant point type.
Qualification Requirements
No part of the program, students must take in order to obtain a degree in the compulsory and elective courses (a total of 120 ECTS credits) and successfully complete all cumulative grade point average of 4.00 must have a GPA of at least 2.0.
Recognition of Prior Learning
And foreign higher education institutions in Turkey Mugla University, Marmaris Tourism Vocational School for students who wish to transfer to Higher Education Associate Degree and Bachelor Degree Programs Level Switch, Double Major, Minor and apply the provisions of the Regulation on the Principles of Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer.
History
Our school, which was established on January 05, 2012 under the name of "İçmeler Vocational School of Tourism", was named "Marmaris Vocational School of Tourism" in 2015 with the decision of our university's senate. There are two departments in our school: Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Services Department and Travel-Tourism and Entertainment Services Department. The Tourist Guidance program within the Travel-Tourism and Entertainment Services Department has started accepting students as of January 05, 2012.
Profile of the Programme
The aim of the programme is, after a one year optional English preparatory school, to give the required professional information, thus to equip the students with all the the basic information related with the tourism sector and send them with all these information after their education to the professional life. During the education it has been given a special importance to the foreign languages. Students are taking many other courses which they will require during their professional life (Tourist Guiding, Anatolian Civilisations, Mythology, Tourism Geography of Turkey, First Aid, etc.) from experienced and expert teachers.
In order to take the Proffessional Tourist Guide licence, the graduade students must join TUREB (Tourist Guide Assosiation)’s Anatolia tour and have to pass the YDS exam at least 75point.
Program Outcomes

To acquire and use theoretical and practical knowledge by prioritizing the scientific approach supported by the textbooks including up-to-date information about tourist guidance, application tools and other resources. |

To interpret and evaluate the phenomena and events by using skills and knowledge gained in the field of tourist guidance, to identify and analyze problems and to bring solution suggestions to them. |

To have the ability to examine and conceptualize the phenomena and events related to the field of tourist guidance with scientific methods and techniques; and consistently improve these knowledge and skills. |

To take responsibility, as an individual or a team member, to bring solutions to the complex and unforeseen problems encountered in the applications related to the field of tourist guidance. |

To inform relevant persons and institutions about the topics related to the field of tourist guidance; to express his/her thoughts and solution suggestions regarding the problems in written and oral form. |

To acquire knowledge about human health and environmental awareness issues related to the field of tourist guidance and to use this accumulation of knowledge for the benefit of society. |

To gain the ability to use information and communication technologies required by the field of tourist guiding. |

Knows the foundation of the Republic, Atatürk's principles and reforms. |

Knows etiquette and ethical values and pays attention to them in their behavior. |
Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading
Students have to participate in activities that are available in measurements and evaluation systems, such as applications, projects, workshops, and homework. Attendance is compulsory to minimum 70% of theoretical courses and 80% of the applied courses and laboratory studies. Students who do not fulfill the attendance obligation, are not entitled to take the final exams. In theoretical courses, students have to repeat the relevant course until they fulfill the attendance obligation. Exams are generally held in written form. However, lecturer may decide to hold an oral exam, as well. The exams of a course are held by the lecturer who gives that course. For each course two exams are scheduled, at least one mid-term and one final exam. Each exam’s contribution levels to the success grade are defined by the lecturer who gives that course.
Graduation Requirements
Students are entitled for graduation upon taking a total of 120 ECTS over four semesters, with 30 ECTS each semester and having a grade-point average of at least 2.00 over 4.00-point system.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Students after finishing the tourist guiding program, may work freelence or employed at the travel agencies througout all Turkey, by using their knowledge, which they get during their education at the school. Some of them also find the opportunity to work as tour leader with the outgoing groups..

The graduated students can make application for licence program.
