Qualification Awarded
Graduates who successfully complete the program are awarded a Master of Art degree in Ceramic Art and Design field.
Specific Admission Requirements
Ceramics, Ceramics and Glass, Ceramic Design and Ceramic and Glass Design Departments of the Fine Arts Faculties or Art and Design Faculties. Candidates who have BA abroad must have the equivalency certificate awarded by the Higher Education Council. Candidates' grade point average (GPA) should be min. 2.40/4.00 to apply to the programme.
Qualification Requirements
Students must achieve at least seven courses, a seminar, and a thesis study during their studies, except Research in the Area of Specialization courses.
Recognition of Prior Learning
The students of our university have the right to request the recognition of prior learning from their previous universities. For the recognition of their prior learning, they should submit their transcript and course contents in releation with the exemption exam results to the Social Science Institute in the first semester of registration year. The credits and final grades received in previous higher education department/program are transferred to the related department/program by board decision by the students’ application during the course registiration period as indicated in the Academic calender.
History
Ceramic Art and Design Main Art Branch- Master of Art Degree programme established in 2017 in Social Sciences Institute in Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University.
Profile of the Programme
The programme consists of two semester for courses and two semester for thesis; totally its four semester. Students may graduate in three semesters if they fulfill the necessary conditions for graduate program. Graduates are sufficient in his/her profession and specialization in their field and also they are capable of working and making scientific researches in public, industry or private sector in the relevant art fields. They can work as artists / designers in the field of art and industry in Ceramic and Glass sector and they can also work in the museums and galleries.
Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading
This program accepts the students through the principles determined by the related department and approved by the university senate as %50 Graduation Grade, %50 Graduate Entrance Exam.
Graduation Requirements
To complete the programme successfully; the student must achieve from all the courses (total credit at least 120 ECTS), must achieve a grade avarage at least 2.5 out of 4.00 and the student must complete the master's thesis successfully.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates can work as artists / designers for production and design positions in the field of art and industry in Ceramic and Glass, public and private sector or in their own studios. They can also work in the museums and galleries and continue their academic careers.
Access to Further Studies
The student may apply fort he 3rd cycle programmes.
