Specific Admission Requirements

* Candidates' undergraduate score must be at least 2.70 or more (on 4th system) / 70 or more (on 100th system) * Candidates must pass the scientific exam at least by 60 (of 100)

Qualification Requirements

The graduation of the graduate student who successfully completes the credit courses and master's thesis is decided by the IAC.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Students who take courses in a higher education institution and who are enrolled in postgraduate student status apply to the Institute through the Institute Branch of the Institute in the first week of each semester in order to recognize the courses they take. The number of semesters corresponding to these courses is calculated by taking into account the credits of these courses and the semester in which the student should start the education, the total credit of the courses in the education-training program and the credits of the semester. This period shall be deducted from the maximum education period specified in the article 44 of the Law and the semester shall be determined by the Graduate School Administrative Board according to the opinion of the Graduate School Board. History

The program started in the 2017-2018 Spring semester in the building of the Department of Fine Arts at the MSKU Kötekli Campus.

Profile of the Programme

The aim of this program is to broaden the knowledge of music education and artistic skills of students in an area based on undergraduate degree proficiency. It is aimed to develop scientific study skills and to educate academician candidates useful to the society.

Program Outcomes

1- Students gain their qualifications in their subject and obey the ethic rules of their subjects
2- Students succeed developments about their subjects and get aim to lifelong learning principals
3- Students own advanced learning skills such as scientific and critical thinking
4- Students have essential knowledge, skill and sensitivity which needed in music education field
5- Students recognize their and the other persons necessities in music education subject and keep in mind them in educational process
6- Students get skills for research, survey, observation, practice and report on their subject
7- Students use techniques and strategies which needed in their subject
8- Students attend to applications and some events for their subject as a social responsibility
9- Students get responsibility and work collectively on applications in their subject
10- Students compares theoritical perspectives related to their subject in term of similarities and differences
11- Students develop quantification tools, documents and sources for music education field
12- Students recognize and use educational technological mediums which related to their subject
13- Students can develop suggestions that based upon researches and evidences for their subjects
14- Students have learning skills for conducting their researches in their main study objectives
15- Students have learning skills for conducting their researches in music education field
16- Students have learning skills and performing abilities for their main study objectives which related to national and international music repertoire

Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading

Exams; midterm, end of the semester, integration, projects, concerts and homework. Exams; written, oral, written-applied and oral-applied. For each course, at least one midterm exam is held in the related semester. The mid-term and final grade grades are decided by the Graduate School Administrative Board at the beginning of each semester with the suggestions of the related faculty members. Graduation Requirements

Our students will be considered successful from theoretical courses with a grade point average of 70 and above (with a grade of 2.7 in a grade) of 100 from the compulsory and elective courses determined in two semesters in the first year. In the second year, the student program will be completed with the condition that the thesis will be prepared by the scientific committee.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Alumnies can work as teachers in Ministry of National Education, academician in universities, TRT and other state choir-orchestras after providing the necessary competences. In addition, they can also work as instructors and artists in the private sector other than the public

Students must pass the exams at least by 60 (of 100) to pass to courses

Mode of Study

The opening of a master's program in the Department of Fine Arts Education Department of Music Education is very important for the development of our university as well as for educating music educators who are highly qualified, searching, questioning, critical thinking, innovating and specialized in our country. Our university is growing and developing day by day. In parallel, the need for teaching staff is constantly increasing. trained instructors within the Republic of Turkey as we grow our own needs, will be an important contribution of this program to meet the need for qualified teachers. It is a known fact that our music teachers who will work in primary and secondary education will be more beneficial to their students. In addition to this, specialized staff will be trained in the relevant departments of the universities and education-training institutions affiliated to the Ministry of National Education. Educating individuals specializing in the field in order to raise the education system needs and contemporary music at the leading music teachers required by the education in Turkey, our country understand the importance of music education and arts education, which is aware of an important part of art education, which examines the scientific sense of space and follow developments related to their field means to train specialized trainers. In this context, the Master's program offered in the Department of Fine Arts Education Department of Music Education will contribute a lot to the field. In addition, there is a need to open this program due to the lack of sufficient number of programs to specialize in the field of Music Education in the region and surrounding.
