Health Management Master's Degree with Thesis

Specific Admission Requirements

In order to enroll in this program, candidates must; have a bachelor's degree, have a diploma grade of 2.40 (in a 4-point system), get at least 55 points from the academic Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam (ALES) centrally administered by the Assessment, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) . The principles regarding the admission of foreign students are determined by the Senate. In order to be successful in a foreign language, it is necessary to get a minimum score of 40 from YDS, YÖKDİL or an equivalent score from any of the foreign language exams approved by the Interuniversity Board.

Qualification Requirements

In order to graduate from the program, it is necessary to take 54 ECTS courses, 6 ECTS seminars and 60 ECTS thesis work. Must complete 120 ECTS credits in total. The minimum grade point average should be 2.00/4.00 for each course.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Students who enroll in the Department can request to be exempted from the courses they have passed in the equivalent programs of the higher education institutions they have studied before. For this, they must submit the approved transcripts and course contents to the relevant unit with a petition within the week following the registration week.

History

Master of Health Management started education in the 2013-2014 academic year. The duration of the program is 2 years in total, 1 year of which is lecture and 1 year is thesis. The language of the program is Turkish.

Profile of the Programme

Having scientific knowledge in the field of Health Management, they can think analytically, make original and original contributions, do scientific research, comply with scientific ethical rules, produce alternative solutions to problems, communicate with academic and sectoral stakeholders in a qualified manner, benefit from information technologies, and express their thoughts in writing and orally with an understandable setup. It is to train scientist who can express and defend with a multifaceted perspective.

Program Outcomes

1-	To have knowledge about theoretical and practical information related to the field of health management and to be able to implement this knowledge

2-	To gain knowledge and skills on understanding, analyzing and directing administrative, financial, technical and medical process of health organizations

3-	To understand basic elements and characteristics of health system and to understand to analyze health policy

4-	To have knowledge and skills about manage to health facilities information system and having the ability to use this system.

5-	To analyze health sector economic and financially and be able to use this result of analysis.

6-	During Health Management process, having the ability to use scientific methods and technics in decision making and problem solving

7-	To continuously improve their professional knowledge and skills, to be open to innovation and lifelong learning in the field of Health Management.

Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading

Each student must register for the courses at the beginning of the semester and attend at least 70% of the courses in order to take the final exams. Students are subjected to at least 1 midterm exam, final exam and, if they fail, a make-up exam for each course. The contribution of the midterm exam to the success grade is 40% and the contribution of the final exam is 60%. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. The final exam grade is required to be at least 70. Students who get one of the letter grades (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB) and (CC) in a course are considered successful in that course.

Graduation Requirements

The master's program with thesis consists of at least seven courses, a seminar course and thesis, with a total of not less than 21 credits. The seminar course and thesis work are non-credit and are evaluated as successful or unsuccessful. The master's program with thesis consists of at least 120 ECTS credits, with at least seven courses, seminars and thesis work, provided that it is not less than 60 ECTS credits in one academic year. The duration of the master's program with thesis is four semesters, starting from the semester in which the courses related to the program they are enrolled in, excluding the time spent in scientific preparation, regardless of whether they are registered for each semester, and the program is completed in a maximum of six semesters. If the student fulfills the requirements for the master's program with thesis, he can graduate in three semesters.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Graduates can work as managers in health institutions.

Access to Further Studies

Candidates who successfully complete their graduate education can study in the PhD program, provided that they get a valid grade from the Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Examination (ALES) and foreign language exam.

The aim of the Health Management master's program is; In an area based on undergraduate degree qualifications, it is to develop and deepen knowledge, as well as to provide the competence to access, evaluate, interpret and apply information by conducting scientific research.
