Specific Admission Requirements
a. Has a bachelor’s degree which is abroad faculty or graduate schools that recognized by domestic or the Council of Higher Education,
b. Having taken the required points from ALES.
Qualification Requirements
Students are required to obtain Master's degree in Labor Economics and Industrial Relations;
a. Having passed all the courses in a curriculum with at least CC,
b. Have achieved a 4.0 weighted GPA of at least 2.0,
c. Prepared thesis, presented front of the jury and passed with successful note.
Recognition of Prior Learning
The higher education institutions in the process of recognition of prior learning are in early stage. For this reason, recognition of prior learning in Mugla University is not fully initialized.
History
Graduate School of Social Sciences (Muğla Sıtkı Koçman Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü) was established in 1992 and began operating in 1993. Bachelor studies are offered since 2004 and master studies since 2011 in Labour Economics and Industrial Relations department. Doctoral studies initiated in 2016-2017 academic year. In 2017-2018 academic year, Labor and Human Resources Management Non-Thesis Master's Program was opened.
Profile of the Programme
The main objective of the program, training qualified personnel for labor areas both in the private and the public sector. For this purpose, educational and research activities under the program is divided into core areas as labor economics, human resources management, social policy, labor and social security law, industrial relations and employment. Students must be capable of analytical thinking to be successful in this program.
Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading
Each student has to register classes and continue at least 70% of courses to enter the final examination. Students are subjected at least one midterm and final exam for each course. Success grade is 40% contribution of midterm exam (as the midterm grade could be considered marks which obtained from measuring tools as homework, laboratory exam, quizzes, etc.) and 60% contribution of final exam. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. Obtaining at least 45 points in final exam is required. Students who have received a letter grade of (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB) and (CC) are considered successful from that course. (DC) and (DD) grades are successful conditional grades. Student’s GPA must be at least 2.0 for being successful in a course which is taken (DC) or (DD) grades.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
As graduates of this department may work as a researcher in their areas also be employed as manager and economist in department of human resources management and industrial relations of the public and private sector businesses and cooperatives of different stages. Also, have as qualities that could have task as inspector, expert or attaché within Ministry of Labor and Social Security. In addition to these, ma be work in company of private consulting, also all institutions given services in employment counseling especially Turkish Labor Institution.
Access to Further Studies
Candidates who completed with success to master’s degree, if they take passing grade of ALES test and have English grammar knowledge of sufficient level, can study doctorate program.
