Specific Admission Requirements
• Students will be accepted in accordance with the provisions of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Graduate Education Regulation.
• To have a master's degree in a science or arts department approved by the Institute's Board of Directors,
• At least 55 standard points from ALES, or at least equivalent from one of the exams accepted by the Interuniversary Board.
• They must have at least 55 points from the YDS or at least the equivalent of national and international foreign language examinations accepted as valid by the Interuniversity Board.
Qualification Requirements
In order to obtain a doctorate degree in Accounting and Finance Department of the Department of Business Administration, students are required to successfully complete all compulsory and elective courses (total of minimum 240 ECTS) and obtain a GPA of at least 3.00 out of 4.00.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Recognition of prior learning in Turkish higher education institutions is at an early stage. Therefore, recognition of prior learning in all programs of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University has not been fully initiated.
History
The School of Business Administration which was opened in Muğla in 1974-1975 academic year by the Economic and Commercial Sciences Academy in Muğla and connected to Dokuz Eylül University in 1982 with YÖK Law, was established in December 1992 with the establishment of Muğla University and transformed into İİBF with the establishment of Muğla University. In the 1992-1993 academic year, regular education began in the 1994-1995 academic year. The language of instruction of the faculty is Turkish.
Profile of the Programme
The aim of this course is who students in the Department of Accounting and Finance Department of Business Administration, to provide the background of contemporary finance and accounting science and to create the infrastructure that they will need to work in their own fields after graduation. On the other hand, it is another aim of our department to contribute to the production of knowledge, to have a participatory, sharing, original values and a contemporary culture of education and work. In this context, it is primarily aimed that our students become preferred individuals in the region and in the country at the level of education, training and research, who adopt the principle of team work, and who are oriented towards solving the problems of the region and the country and who are respectful to national and universal values. Students who graduate from our department are encouraged to have the knowledge, skills and motivation to succeed in the private sector as well as in all areas of the public sector, and in this context, to develop their human capital through lifelong learning practices.
Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading
Each student must register for courses at the beginning of the semester and must attend at least 70% of the courses in order to be able to take the final exam. At least 1 midterm exam, final exam and unsuccessful students are subject to make-up exams for each course. The grade of the midterm exam is 50% and the final exam is 50%. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. At the end of the semester, the grade must be at least 75 for each course. Students taking one of the letter grades (AA), (BA), (BB) and (CB) are considered successful.
Graduation Requirements
In order to complete the program successfully, it is required to pass all the courses available in the program, to obtain a weighted grade point average of at least 3.00 out of 4.00 and to complete the doctoral thesis successfully.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Our graduates also have the ability to work in universities as academic and administrative staff. Our graduates can also work in private sector organizations.
