Specific Admission Requirements
Students are selected directly among graduates of related vocational high schools and also by a nation-wide Student Selection Examination conducted by Student Selection and Placement Center.
Qualification Requirements
Y1 To have knowledge about the basic subjects of marina management, basic research topics of management science and business processes and functions
Y2 To be able to blend the basic information about the marina sector, to be able to interpret the data in the sector, to identify and analyze the problems and to produce a solution
Y3 To have comprehensive knowledge about basic maritime terms and to have the ability to use this theoretical knowledge in the marina sector.
Y4 To have the ability to use the information and communication technologies needed in the marina sector
Y5 To have the ability to produce effective, efficient and quality service ways for customers with smart solutions with high communication power
Y6 To be able to comment, discuss and solve the problems encountered on professional issues related to the marina sector.
Y7 To have the ability to effectively use the technical tools and equipment used in the marina sector
Y8 To have practical foreign language knowledge that can easily understand and use international maritime terms in the marina sector and communicate with customers and colleagues in the sector
Y9 Being in a decision-making position in solving the problems that may occur in the land and sea operations in the marinas and in the moments of crisis that may occur during the cruising process.
Y10 To learn the basic concepts of marine tourism and to have basic knowledge about the legislation of marine tourism.
Y11 Being aware of the ethics, environmental management and social responsibility required by the profession in the marina sector, to act selflessly and consciously on issues such as the safety and health of the employees, safety and security.
Y12 Having knowledge of the operation process of marina and yacht businesses and familiar with the basic documentation documents used in these areas
Y13 Having information about current developments and innovations in the marina industry and gaining the ability to comment
Y14 Having basic professional competence, reaching the right information with an active and entrepreneurial understanding, being aware of the necessity of lifelong learning and self-development
Y15 To train individuals with a qualified workforce who have knowledge of environmental management and security operation processes in marinas, who can effectively and efficiently follow up documents in practice, and who have the knowledge to ensure sustainability in the marine tourism sector.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Students who have taken the courses in the curriculum of the program by attending another higher education institution and have received a passing grade, approved content of the courses they have taken from the previous higher education institutions, learning outcomes, measurement and evaluation methods, workload, ECTS credits and Students can apply to the Student Affairs Unit within the period specified in the academic calendar, with an official transcript showing the success grade and a petition stating the courses they want to be exempted from. Which courses can be exempted are finalized by the decision of the board of directors.
History
Datça Kazım Yılmaz Vocational School, which has a ground and two-floor service building transferred to our University on December 8, 2006, Accounting and Tax Applications affiliated to the Accounting and Tax Department in the 2006-2007 academic year, Tourism and Hotel Management under the Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Services Department. Our School, which started its activities with and Cookery programs; In the Fall Semester of the 2010-2011 Academic Year, the Fruit and Vegetable Processing Technology Program affiliated with the Food Processing Department was opened, and the same program was closed in the Fall Semester of the 2013-2014 Academic Year, as there was not enough demand. In the same year, together with the Accounting and Tax Applications Program (E.L.) affiliated to the Accounting and Tax Department and the Tourism and Hotel Management Program (E.E.) affiliated to the Hotel Restaurant and Catering Services Department, Cookery in the 2014-2015 Academic Year. Our School, which has reached 2 departments and 6 programs with the opening of the (İ.Ö.) Program, will continue its education activities with 3 departments and 7 programs by starting to admit students to the Marina Management Program, which will be put into service in the 2016-2017 academic year under the Department of Transportation Services. .
Profile of the Programme
The Marina and Yacht Management program offers two years of education after high school. The Marina Management Program, which will accept students with YGS 6 points, started its education and training in the 2016-2017 academic year. The aim of the program, whose language of instruction is Turkish; is to train qualified personnel who have a command of maritime culture, who have received training in marina and yacht management and tourism disciplines, who prioritize environmental awareness and country interests in the field of marine tourism, who can look at the sea and tourism from a multi-faceted perspective, and who are planned to take part in this field. Moreover; It is the training of middle and senior managers for businesses such as marinas, marinas, yacht building facilities, shipyards, yacht management companies, yacht brokerage firms and agencies, yacht insurance companies. In addition to this, training administrative personnel to work in yacht tourism companies, yacht service personnel who may work on yachts, office personnel and technical personnel to work in marinas are among the objectives of the department. It is planned to take 20 students to the program each year. In the first year, the marina management program aims to provide basic business and field information such as management, general accounting, basic maritime and shipping knowledge, marine tourism, marina management and yacht management, safety and security in marinas. Meteorology, yacht tourism in Turkey, land operations in marinas, marine tourism legislation, environmental management in marinas, vocational foreign language courses aim to equip students with the qualifications demanded by the relevant sector.

Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading
Exams; consists of midterm, final exam, make-up exam, make-up exam, exemption exam and a single course exam. Midterm Exams: A midterm exam is held for the courses offered in each semester. Midterm evaluation is 40% of the score received. Final Exams: It is held at the end of the semester to determine the success of the student from the courses completed. Final exam evaluation is 60% of the score received. Make-up Exams: Students who cannot take the midterm or final exam due to a justified and valid excuse are given the right to make-up exams by the relevant administrative board. In order for the student to be accepted to the make-up exam, he/she must have applied to the dean's office/directorship within 3 days from the day the excuse was made, with a petition basing his/her excuse on documents, and his/her excuse must be accepted by the relevant administrative board. Make-up exams: At the end of the semester, students can take the make-up exams for the courses they failed with a FD or FF grade, and for the courses they were successful with a DD or DC grade. The grade taken in the make-up exam replaces the final exam grade of that course. The weights of the midterm and make-up exam grades are calculated as in the final exams. In the courses in which the make-up exam is taken, the final grade is taken as the basis, regardless of the previous grade. Exemption Exams: It is held on the dates specified in the academic calendar for the courses determined by the Senate. Single Course Exam: Students who have met the attendance requirement for graduation but have only one unsuccessful course can take a single course exam for the course they failed. In addition, students who cannot graduate due to their GPA below 2.00 despite being successful in all the courses in the education program they are registered for, apply to the department chair with a petition in order to increase their GPA in order to increase their GPA. They can take a single course exam. A single course exam can be used once. One of the following letter grades is given to the students for each course they take by the instructor assigned to conduct that course as a semester success grade. Score for Semester/End of Year Success Grade Coefficient 90-100 AA 4, 85-89 BA 3,5 ,80-84 BB 3, 75-79 CB 2,5, 70-74 CC 2, 65-69 DC 1,5 , 60-64 DD 1, 50-59 FD 0.5, 49 and below FF 0.
Graduation Requirements
The student must complete the 2-year education period with 120 ECTS credits. This degree is awarded to students who successfully complete all the theoretical and applied courses in the curriculum and a 70-day internship period. In order for the student to successfully complete the education and receive a diploma, his/her GPA must be at least 2.00 out of 4.00 and he/she must be successful in all courses.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates of the marina management program will have the opportunity to work in all maritime businesses, primarily marinas, in the public and private sectors, in brokerage firms, ports, yacht building facilities and shipyards, yacht insurance companies, and supply companies.
Access to Further Studies
Graduates of the marina management programme may apply to first cycle programmes, conferring a Bachelor's degree through a centralised placement examination.
