Specific Admission Requirements
Student admission to the department takes place upon completion of the processes/passing the exams determined by ÖSYM within the framework of the university's academic and legal legislation. In line with the relevant regulations, the framework of which is created by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), student admission to this program is made according to the YKS score type through the central examination system called YKS. After students declare their preferences for the program they want to study in, they are placed in the relevant programs by the Student Selection and Placement Center according to the score they receive from this exam.
Qualification Requirements
1-To have awareness of social, scientific and professional ethical values, national and international norms, contracts, laws and regulations, occupational health and safety in practices related to the field.
2-To have the ability to convey basic knowledge, thoughts and suggestions on subjects related to the field using written, oral or visual presentation techniques.
3-To have the competence to develop critical, creative and original ideas and to do interdisciplinary work by taking responsibility independently and/or in team work in applications related to the field.
4-To gain the awareness of lifelong learning, to have the ability to access information and to follow new developments and technologies and reflect them on their work.
5-To have the competence to take an entrepreneurial and innovative attitude that can direct one's education or expertise to an advanced level of education in the same field or to a different expertise or profession in a similar field.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Previous Education of the students who have previously studied in another Higher Education Institution, the Higher Education Council determined by the "Higher Education Institutions in Undergraduate and Undergraduate Level Programs Between the Transfer, Double Major, Minor Branch and Transfer of Institutions with the Regulation on the Principles" Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education Regulations. In our department, certificate or experience-based (in-formal / non-formal) learning is not currently recognized outside formal education institutions. However, the Exemption Exam is held at the beginning of each academic term for Foreign Language (English, German, French, etc.) courses in all higher education programs. Students who think that they meet the expected qualifications of these courses have the right to take the exams. Students who pass the exam are exempted from the related courses in the curriculum.
History
Kavaklıdere Şehit Mustafa Alper Vocational High School Forestry Department Hunting and Wildlife program will start education at the associate degree level in the 2019-2020 period. The quota of the program is 30 students. In addition to providing the basic concepts that need to be known in this field, the Hunting and Wildlife curriculum also provides training in a scientific environment and acquisition of professional skills by using the advantages of formal education and training. Lessons will be taught in detail and practices will be carried out by lecturers who are experts in their fields. In addition, field applications will be carried out within the scope of the courses and current applications will be shown to students on site. In addition, a contemporary learning environment is provided by utilizing the opportunities offered by technology (computer, slides, video). There are 3 lecturers working in the Hunting and Wildlife program. In addition to their lessons, faculty members conduct scientific research, publish their studies in international and national journals, and also participate in national and international congresses and symposiums related to their fields.
Profile of the Programme
It is an associate degree program that aims to provide 5th level academic and professional qualifications. The student graduates from the program by completing 120 ECTS credits. Duration of education is 2 years (Includes internship period). The student makes horizontal and vertical transfers in line with the relevant legislation of YÖK.
The Hunting and Wildlife Program aims to train qualified intermediate staff who can turn their knowledge and experience into practice in this field, are open to social and technological innovations, are productive, enterprising, respectful of the environment, and have acquired the professional competencies required in line with scientific and technological developments.

Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading
Exams; It consists of midterm exam, final exam, make-up exam, make-up exam, exemption exam and single course exam.
a) Midterm Exams: At least one midterm exam is held for the courses offered in each semester. If one midterm exam is held, the semester evaluation cannot be more than 40%, and if more than one midterm exam is held, it cannot be more than 50%. The midterm exam schedule, which indicates exam dates and exam locations, is prepared by the department chair. Programs, which are finalized with the approval of the deanery and directorates, are announced at least one week before the exams start. Midterm exam results are announced seven (7) days before the final exams start.
b) End of Semester Exams: It is held at the end of the semester to determine the student's success in the courses completed. The final exam program, which indicates exam dates and exam locations, is prepared by the department chair. Programs finalized with the approval of the relevant board of directors are announced at least two weeks before the exams start. Final exam results are announced within 7 days at the latest from the last day of the final exams specified in the academic calendar.
For each course they take, students are given a score of "90-100 points AA, 85-89 points BA, 80-84 points BB, 75-79 points CB, 70-74 points CC, 65-69 points DC" by the instructor assigned to conduct that course. One of the "60-64 points DD, 50-59 points FD, 49 and below points FF" letter grade is given as the semester success grade.
Graduation Requirements
According to Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Associate and Undergraduate Education Regulations;
They must successfully complete the courses, practices, and internships required from the education program of the department/program they are registered in, by providing the minimum graduation credits (120 ECTS) in accordance with the provisions of this Regulation, and their overall grade point average must be at least 2.00. Those who successfully complete their education according to the principles set out in this Regulation are given a diploma for the relevant graduation level.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Hunting and Wildlife Program graduates can be appointed to the "Forest Conservation Officer" positions in the "General Administrative Services" staff, provided that they receive sufficient points from the Associate Degree Public Personnel Selection Examination (KPSS) score in the General Directorate of Nature Conservation, National Parks and General Directorate of Forestry within the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
Access to Further Studies
Graduates of the program can transfer to Forest Engineering and Wildlife and Ecology Management undergraduate programs of the Faculties of Forestry if they are successful in Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) conducted by OSYM. In addition, they may continue to open education undergraduate programs without exams with the right of second university as a result of their placement in the program or as a graduate.
Mode of Study
The aim of this program is to train wildlife technicians who can work in various branches of hunting and wildlife. It is aimed for wildlife technicians to have the knowledge and skills to assist forest engineers, biologists and wildlife managers on wildlife-related issues.
It is aimed to raise students in the Hunting and Wildlife program as individuals who have sufficient knowledge in all areas of wildlife, are equipped with the ability to apply their knowledge to a high degree, and can constantly improve themselves in line with technological developments.
