Master of Science (MSc.) in the field of Woodworking Industrial Engineering

Specific Admission Requirements

The applications are evaluated by the Institute Administrative Board in accordance with the Mugla Sıtkı Koçman University Graduate Education and Examination Regulations and the successful candidates are accepted in accordance to considering the quotas announced.

Qualification Requirements

Students should be successful in seminar presentations and thesis defense.

History

Profile of the Programme

Students are admitted to the Department of Woodworking Industrial Engineering (MSc) twice in a year, in the fall and spring semesters, and 1 to 5 students are admitted depending on the quota. In addition, with the ERASMUS exchange program the students are sent and received to higher education institutions providing education in the foreign country.

Program Outcomes

1- Follows and uses technological developments in wood industry
2- Gains the ability to make an original and independent research
3- Takes precautions in order to using and applying of wood with extended service life.
4- Will have ethical values of Profession and Society.
5- Joins to group works as an engineer and takes responsibilities in necessary cases.
6- Provides effective managements of resourches
7- Provides work safety of employers and work places.
8- Does material design, develop and analyz.
9- Calculates engineering calculations of wooden constructions with theorical and computer aided
10- Applys engineering of human factors on design of furniture and interior
11- Applys testing techniques which are determine proporties of wood based materials.
12- Design and develop new products for various living area.
13- Implements and develops quality, safety and standards.
14- Implements principals of branding in wood industry
15- Uses techniques for access information that necessary for Life-long Learning.

Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading

The measurement of the success of the courses taken within the scope of this program is based on the evaluation method of the related course, mid-term exam (mid-term), final exam, applications within the scope of the course, assignments, projects, presentations and thesis work.

Graduation Requirements

At least seven courses (60 ECTS) for the students admitted with a Master's degree, a specialization course, a seminar course, a proficiency exam, a thesis proposal and a thesis. The minimum graduation credit of the program is 120 ECTS.

Our graduates who have successfully completed the MSc. in Woodworking Industrial Engineering have the opportunity to continue their careers in the sectors that are directly or indirectly related to their field and academically.

In the Department of Woodworking Industrial Engineering, formal education is carried out and the language of instruction is Turkish.
