Qualification Awarded
Students who successfully complete the program are entitled to receive a Bachelor's degree in Biology.
Specific Admission Requirements
1. Graduating from secondary education institutions or secondary education institutions of foreign countries whose equivalence is approved by the Ministry of National Education and meeting the admission requirements for undergraduate programs of higher education institutions.
2. To be placed in the relevant undergraduate program of the higher education institution as a result of the central examination conducted by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM), whose procedures and principles are determined by YÖK.
3. To have obtained sufficient points as a result of the central exam conducted by ÖSYM for the programs of higher education institutions that accept students with a special talent exam, the procedures and principles of which are determined by YÖK, and to have succeeded in the special talent exam.
4. To be placed in undergraduate programs that are the continuation of the fields they have completed in higher education institutions for associate degree graduates as a result of the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) conducted by ÖSYM, whose procedures and principles are determined by YÖK.

Recognition of Prior Learning
Students studying in the Department of Biology may be exempt from some courses within the framework of certain regulations. If the content of the course taken in another institution is appropriate to the content of the course given in the Department of Biology and approved by the relevant faculty/institute/school directorate, the student may be exempted from this course.
History
The department of Biology was established in 1993, and started to educeation in 1995-1996 education period with 26 students. Since that year, the student number registered to the department have been increasing.

It is a higher education program that covers an eight-semester program based on secondary education qualifications and provides education for a specific learning area or profession.

Graduation Requirements
To graduate from this program, students must have a minimum GPA of 2.00 out of 4.00 and 240 ECTS credits from all courses in the curriculum.

Students who graduate from the Department of Biology can find employment in the private sector and public institutions as well as working in academic or research laboratories.
Access to Further Studies
In order to apply to the Master's Program, candidates must have a bachelor's degree and must have the standard score of the field they are applying for from the Academic Staff and Graduate Education Entrance Examination conducted centrally by the Student Selection and Placement Center.
