Qualification Awarded

After students complete all the requirements in the curriculum programme (minimum 90 ects credits – minimum 2,5 grade point average) and fulfilling all other requirements for graduation, they get department of International Business and Trade, area of International Business Administration" Second Cycle Degree Certificate and they graduate as a expertise in their field with second cycle degree.

Specific Admission Requirements

The bachelors (intra or extra department) can apply for a graduate degree. There are two more conditions for this: a)Required points for ALES; b) minimum 2,4 grade point average. In addition, these rates are defined by the university senate.

Qualification Requirements

A Master’s Degree (M.A.)with Thesis in depatment of International Business is awarded to students who pass the required courses and electives that make up the curriculum and who complete and successfully defend an M.A. Thesis. Completion of the program requires the accumulation of at least 90 ECTS credits with a GPA of at least 2.50. Upon successful completeion of the M.A. students have the right to apply to a third-cycle degree program.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Admission requirements are determined in line with the regulations set by Higher Education Council of Turkey (YÖK) For National Students First cycle (BA/BSc) degree in relevant fields.

History

The university began to operate as a new institution under the name of Muğla University in 1992, before it's been a part of the Dokuz Eylul University between1982-1992 and Ankara University. between 1974-1982. And finally, Fethiye Business School was established in 2012 as part of Mugla Sitki Kocman University.

Profile of the Programme

The purpose of the MBA program is to educate qualified students from a variety of undergraduate programs for successful careers at the national and international setting levels. The program combines experiential learning with theoretical approach in various functional areas of international business. It is expected that the program would produce qualified professionals with varied intellectual and curriculum backgrounds to acquire the mix of advanced skills necessary for dealing with the broadest problems at different levels of managerial responsibility.

Program Outcomes

1- Having the necessary scientific information in matters related to International Business; being able to have a comprehension that will enable to learn contemporary methods and techniques of international business that includes information technologies.
2- Concepts and ideas in the fields of International Business, being able to evaluate scientific sources and data in the light of scientific methods, analytical thinking, identifying problem areas, analyze, develop predictions / suggestions based on evidence and research.
3- The ability to work with disciplinary and interdisciplinary teams, people and groups in different cultures and professions and take responsibility, provide confidence.
4- In support of basic and advanced theoretical economic information, having knowledge about international economic problems.
5- Understand the national and international (and even global) dimensions of an international business from legal, financial and socio-cultural aspects, with support for basic business information.
6- Having detailed information about national and international management systems that tourism enterprises can use.
7- To have knowledge about different social and political cultures and different economic and demographic structures of countries and to have flexible decision-making ability to adapt to these differences.
8- Understand the criteria for a successful dynamic international marketing in support of flexible decision-making ability.
9- To be knowledgeable about the logistic activities which constitute the main channels of international real movements.
10- To understand the framework of the information system that an international business may need and to be able to create the necessary infrastructure.
11- To be able to comprehend the international short and long term capital movements which are necessary for the production, marketing and logistic activities which are necessary for financial institutions and instruments at international scale.
12- To have minimum legal knowledge about all national and international legislation (general export-import, foreign exchange, customs, transport legislation) and other regulations in order to realize an international trade.

Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading

Students have to attend minimum 70% of courses of their program. In the contrary case they can’t take final examinations of those courses. Exams are usually done in written form. The assessment method of success for each course is clearly indicated in the related course catalog form. There are one mid term exam and final exam at least (and makeup exam for unsuccessful . Accordingly, midterm examination dates are announced at least a week beforehand. The weight of the midterm examination in the student’s final grade for the semester is 40%. Final Examination: A final examination is given at the end of every semester and the date of the exam is announced at least two weeks beforehand. The weight of the final examination in the student’s final grade for the semester is 50% and exam mark for final examination must be at least 70. It is required to obtain the letter grade one of AA, BA, BB, CB or CC in order to be evaluated as successful.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

The MBA program provides its students a wide range of professions in almost every stage of international business life. The graduates of this program can work in advanced positions in marketing, human resources, accounting/finance, project management or production departments of national or multinational companies (MNCs); in local, as experts in foreign or government banks; private or governmental financial institutions; insurance companies; audit companies; or be certified public accountants. Also the graduates will be surrounded with skills to set up their own business and become effective entrepreneurs.

Access to Further Studies

It is possible for our students to continue four-year-doctoral program at any university having the doctoral program of that department after their graduation. Graduates take phd degree at business administration programs. Our Graduates must obtaing minimumALES score and Foreign Language score to be able to apply any third cycle degree programme.
