Graduates who successfully complete the program by fulfilling all the requirements are awarded an Associate Degree in ‘Elderly Care’.
Specific Admission Requirements
It is necessary to be a high school graduate to be accepted as a program. You have to get enough points from the Higher Education Institutions Examination. Students are taken with TYT points type.
Qualification Requirements
At the end of four semesters, total 120 lectures including summer internship must be taken and at least 2.00 general academic grade average according to 4 grade system.
Recognition of Prior Learning
The previous courses in the university that the student has studied with are evaluated by the Department Compliance Commission in terms of course content and course hours. If deemed appropriate, the curriculum in the curriculum is deemed to have passed the relevant grade in the previous university. Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Associate Degree, Undergraduate Education-Examination and Examination Regulations can be considered for the transfer of courses that these students take from other higher education institutions.
History
Elderly Care Program of Health Services Vocational School at Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University has started its education activities with the first education program opened in 2019-2020 academic year. The academic staff of the programme consists of three instructors.
Profile of the Programme
Elderly Care Program is a two-year undergraduate program that provides education and training in the fields of elderly care. There are theoretical and elective courses in the program, in addition to the courses in the fall and spring semesters of last year, professional practice is included.

Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate, the courses and 30-day internship must be completed successfully. In order to complete the program successfully, it is necessary to successfully complete all the courses available in the program (120 ECTS credits) and obtain a weighted average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.

Graduates of Elderly Care Program: Social Services and Child Protection Agency, Municipalities, Hospitals, Non-Governmental Organizations and Private Institutions where elderly care services are carried out; nursing homes, elderly care homes, dormitories for the elderly, day centers for the elderly, hospice (home care in the terminal period), home care services, organizing the elderly's home, protected dwellings and so on. work under expert supervision.
Access to Further Studies
If Elderly Care Program graduates get enough points from the Vertical Transfer Examination conducted by ÖSYM, Nutrition and dietetics, Physical therapy and rehabilitation, Nursing, Nursing & Health Care, Gerontology departments can move vertically within the quota.
