Milas Vocational School Clothing Production Technology

Qualification Awarded

Students who successfully complete all the compulsory and elective courses required in the curriculum and earn sufficient credits receive their associate degree diplomas and graduate with the title of Clothing Production Technology Technician.

Specific Admission Requirements

Students will be recruited according to the TYT score in the University Higher Education Exam given by ÖSYM. It is desired that students who are interested in clothing production, have drawing skills and manual skills.

Qualification Requirements

The use of Milas Vocational Education School Production Technology Program and ready-to-use Education Workshop, Computer laboratory and courses can also be used for Higher requirements. Attachments and examples such as machine techat loom for practice lessons in workshops. Apparel for the program, technical and stylistic drawings, model applications are available for availability for all classes. Jewelery and Jewelery Design Programme, Jewelery and Stoneworking Workshops and Architectural Restoration Woodworking and Ceramics Workshops, Architectural Restoration Woodworking and Ceramics Workshops, repair workshops opportunities.

Recognition of Prior Learning

It is recognized that the students who have previously studied at another Higher Education Institution have been identified by the Higher Education Council in the framework of the "Transition between Programs at Higher Education Institutions and Programs at the Level of Higher Education Institutions" Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Undergraduate and Undergraduate Education and Training Regulations " (English, German, French etc.), Turkish Language and Atatürk's Principles and History of Revolution, which are all of the higher education programs, are not recognized at the present time except for the formal education institutions or certified (experiential or non-formal) Exemption Examination is held at the beginning of each academic term for students who are considering the qualifications expected from these courses and have the right to enter the exams made.

History

Textile Clothing Shoes and Leather Department Clothing Production Technology Program started its activities by recruiting students for the first time in the 2019-2020 academic year.

Profile of the Programme

Our Vocational School is a four-semester higher education institution that provides applied education aiming to train qualified intermediate manpower for certain professions. This program is a 2-year higher education program that aims to train intermediate manpower who can perform the profession of Garment Production or take responsibility for the Textile and Clothing activities of public and private enterprises or open a business on their own behalf, with contemporary knowledge and technologies for application, and mastering the daily legislation.

Program Outcomes

1- Understands the methods and techniques related to the field of Clothing Production Technologies.
2- Recognizes the necessary tools and equipment related to the profession.
3- Lists the techniques related to Clothing Production Technologies and applies these techniques.
4- In line with the theoretical knowledge and skills acquired in the field of Clothing Production Technologies, she uses scientific methods and techniques to solve the problems she encounters.
5- Understands the production and properties of textile materials.
6- Recognizes and uses existing technologies in yarn, woven and knitted fabric, finishing, ready-made clothing and quality control.
7- Distinguish original works on Clothing, Fashion and Textile Design.
8- It designs its knowledge on current and contemporary issues and professional practices with an aesthetic point of view.
9- Applies pattern preparation and model development techniques.
10- Recognizes and uses garment machines and applies information about preventive maintenance of machines.
11- Applies cutting, sewing and quality control techniques.
12- Recognizes professional technical knowledge for design implementation and product production.
13- Uses computer and information communication technologies at a level to support their professional development.
14- Understands teamwork within and between disciplines within the same professional discipline during textile applications.
15- Develops a positive attitude towards lifelong learning with the knowledge and skills acquired in the field.
16- He/she thinks analytically, questions and researches about his/her area of ??responsibility, communicates verbally and in writing in international platforms related to his/her field.
17- Defends professional ethics and cultural values.

Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading

Exams; midterm exam, final exam, make-up exam, make-up exam, exemption exam and single exam. Midterm exams: At least one midterm exam is given for the courses opened in each semester. Final Examination: At the end of the semester the course is done to determine the success of the student from the completed courses. The general application for the contributions of the examinations is 40% of the midterm exam score and 60% of the final exam score. However, the contributions of the midterm and final exams to the course grade can be determined at different rates by the instructors conducting the courses. Exemption Exams: Students who are unable to take midterm or final exams due to a just and valid excuse will be given an excuse examination right by the relevant board of directors. In order to be accepted for the excuse examination, the applicant must apply to the dean / directorate within 3 days from the date of the petition and the excuse for the excuse, and the excuse must be accepted by the relevant administrative board. Make-up exams: At the end of the semester final exams, the students take FD or FF grades and take the DD or DC grades and take the make-up exams. The grade taken in the make-up examination replaces the final grade of the course. Contribution shares of the midterm and make-up exam grades are calculated as they are in the final exams. In courses that are put to make-up exam, regardless of the previous achievement grade, the last grade is taken as the basis. Exemption Exams: These are held on the dates specified in the academic calendar for the courses set by the Senate. Single Course Exam: Students who fulfill the continuing requirement for graduation but fail the single course can take the odd one-course examination that they failed. According to the provisions of the Relative Evaluation System "Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education-Training Regulations", it entered into force with the Senate Decree No. 465/11 dated August 29.

Graduation Requirements

In order to successfully complete the Clothing Production Technology Program and obtain an associate degree, students must pass all the courses in the program, complete a 30-day professional internship, and obtain a weighted grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Students who successfully complete the program, after graduation, work in the production units of Textile and Apparel enterprises, Model Shops, Design units, Planning, R&D, Customer representation, etc. They will be able to work in units as well as have the ability to open their own design and production workplaces.

Access to Further Studies

Students who complete the program and graduate, if they are successful in the Vertical Transfer Exam given by ÖSYM, they gain the right to enroll in an undergraduate program suitable for the program they graduated from. The departments that can be completed with a vertical transfer from the program are: Fashion Clothing Design, Fashion Design, Fashion and Textile Design, Textile, Textile Engineering, Textile Design, Textile and Fashion Design Departments can complete the undergraduate course by giving classes.
