Qualification Awarded
Students who meet graduation requirements in the Office Management and Secretary Programme, receive “Office Management and Secretary Associate Degree”.
Specific Admission Requirements
Students are admited to the Office Management and Secretary Programme, basen on their score in Higher Education Exam (YGS) held by, Evaluation, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). If candidates are placed within the quota of YGS, they are entitled to register.
Qualification Requirements
There is no limit to the maximum duration of study in order to obtain an undergraduate degree.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Students who have enrolled in higher education institutions have the right to request recognition of their education that different universities have already completed. For the registration of new enrolled students, they must submit their transcripts and course content to the relevant department within the first week of enrollment.
History
From 2002-2003 academic year Office Management and Executive Assistance program started activity as structured teaching. In the 2005-2006 academic year, the second education students were also taken. 80 students are enrolled in the Office Management and Executive Assistance program each year, 40 (normal education) and 40 (secondary education). Three instructors serve in Office Management and Executive Assistance program
Profile of the Programme
Programme aims to train office managers who are equipped with sufficient information and skills to support managers in their office work, who can effectively use computers, who has advanced communication skills, who is skilful in using all kinds of office technologies, who has knowledge of protocol, who has skills of administrative decision-making, analytical and creative thinking. The Office Management and Executive Assistance Program provides practical training based on theoretical and workplace practice for two years at the undergraduate level. Educational language is Turkish. There are 50 students from each type of teaching. Our students go to workplace training in office work and office management at least two days a week in their second semester.
Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading
Every student has to attend classes, practices, labs, projects, seminars, workshops, semester work, graduation projects. Students who do not attend at least 70% of the theoretical courses and at least 80% of the practical and laboratory studies are not allowed to take the final exams from those courses. Students have to repeat the relevant lessons until they fulfill the attendance requirement in the theoretical courses. Examinations are usually conducted in writing. However, the teaching staff may also decide to conduct an oral examination. Depending on the content of the lessons, the students may be directed to the project work provided that they are indicated on the information form. The exams of the courses are taught by the instructors who teach. Students with excuse exams may be held with the approval of the relevant board within 15 days of the end date of the midterm exam.
Graduation Requirements
To succeed in all of the courses listed in the curriculum of the program by getting the grade of at least DD with a minimum of 120 ECTS and to have a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2,00 out of 4,00.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
The graduates of our programme with wide employment choices have the opportunity to work both in public and private sector. Many institutions recruiting staff with through public personnel selection examination (KPSS) employ the graduates of this department. Graduates who use computers, have office management and communication skills and equipped with knowledge of business correspondences also have the chance to work in private sector. The programme offers not only theoretical information, but activities on practical implementation are also offered.
Access to Further Studies
Graduating students who succeed at external transfer exam (DGS) can transfer their BA education in related fields of the programme. They can transfer vertically their education in 4 year departments of Banking, Banking and Finance, Working economy, Economy, Economics and Finance, Management, Economy, Business Information Management, Business Informatics, Logistics management, Capital Markets, International Finance, International trade, International Trade and Finance.
