Recognition of Prior Learning
With the student's application, the previous courses at the previous university are evaluated by the Graduate Integration Committee in terms of course content and course hours. If deemed appropriate, our department is deemed to have passed the relevant courses in its curriculum with the grade obtained from the previous university.
History
Psychiatric Nursing graduate program was opened on 17.07.2019 with the decision of the Higher Education Board (YÖK).
It started to accept students in the spring semester of the 2019-2020 Academic Year.
Profile of the Programme
Students of the Psychiatric Nursing Master's Program with Thesis must pass at least seven courses, a seminar and a thesis study, apart from the field of specialization. The total ECTS required to obtain a master's degree is at least 120. Graduates are given the title of Specialist Psychiatric Nurse (Msc).
Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading
It is determined by the responsible lecturer of the course in accordance with the Postgraduate Education Regulation of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University.

Students of the Psychiatric Nursing Master's Program with Thesis must pass at least seven courses, a seminar and a thesis study, apart from the field of specialization. The total ECTS required to obtain a master's degree is at least 120.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
They work as clinical officers and executive nurses in Ministry of Health, University and Private hospitals of nurses specialized in Psychiatric Nursing. They can work as academicians in the faculties of Health Sciences of the universities, in the Department of Psychiatric Nursing in the Nursing Schools, in the departments of nursing, midwifery and health officers in Health Schools.
Access to Further Studies
Candidates who have successfully completed their postgraduate education can study in the doctoral program provided that they get a valid grade from the Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Exam (ALES) and foreign language exam.

To raise science specialist psychiatric nurses who can access, evaluate, conduct scientific research, transfer the acquired knowledge and skills to the practice area and nursing / psychiatric nursing teaching, and use teaching principles and methods in the field of nursing / psychiatric nursing.
