Qualification Awarded
Students who meet graduation requirements in the Child Development Programme, receive “Child Development Associate Degree”.
Specific Admission Requirements
Students are admited to the Child Development Programme basen on their score in Higher Education Exam (YGS) held by, Evaluation, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). If candidates are placed within the quota of YGS, they are entitled to register.
Qualification Requirements
In order to acquire Child Development Associate Degree students are supposed to complete all required and elective courses (totally 120 ECTS equivalent) in the programme successfully and their grade point avarage (C.G.P.A.) is supposed to be at leasts 2.0 out of 4.00.
Recognition of Prior Learning
It has the right to request the recognition of the education of its students in another Higher Education Institution. Prior Education has been determined by the Council of Higher Education, "Regulation on the Principles for the Transfer of Programs between the Associate and Undergraduate Levels in Higher Education Institutions, Credit Transfer between Institutions with Double Major, Minor and Minor" and "Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Associate Degree and Bachelor of Education Regulation". For the recognition of the learning of new enrolled students, they must submit their transcripts and course content to the relevant department within the first year of enrollment. However, exemption exams are held at the beginning of each academic term for Foreign Languages (English, German, French etc.), Turkish Language, Atatürk Principles and History of Revolution, Information and Transmission Technologies courses which are all of the higher education programs. Students who think they have the qualifications expected from these courses have the right to take the exams. Students who enter and succeed in the examination are exempted from the relevant courses in the course schedule.
History
The Child Development program started in 2003-2004 as a formal education by taking second-school students in the academic year. In the 2005-2006 academic year, formal teaching activity started. The student quota is a total of 80 people, 40 of whom are in normal education and 40 of whom are in secondary education. There are 4 instructors in the program.
Profile of the Programme
The most significant aim of Child Development Programme is to provide education service oriented to acquire life skills with modern teaching methods and proper to information age and business life with its lifelong education provision. In this direction, our students are expected to being an invidual who are utilizing their qualifications, researching, willing to contribute to developlment of their profession and their nation, fallowing all the least developments related to their fields and continuously reforming themselves, having unique options and analytic persons. The duration of the program is four semesters.

Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading
At least one midterm and one final exam are given for each course givenEvery student has to attend classes, practice, laboratory, project, workshop, semester work, graduation studies. Students who do not attend at least 70% of the theoretical courses and at least 80% of the practical and laboratory studies are not allowed to take the final exams from those courses. Students have to repeat the relevant lessons until they fulfill the attendance requirement in the theoretical courses. The examinations are usually in writing. However, the teaching staff can also decide to make verbal. Students may be directed to the project study provided that they are indicated on the information form according to the contents of the courses. The exams of the courses are made by the instructor who instructor the course. Students who have an excuse for exemption can be made with the approval of the relevant board within 15 days from the end date of the midterm exam. Quizzes and assignments can also be assessed. The success grade is assessed by midterm exam, short-term exam and homework are 40% and final exam is 60%. In this assessment; The course instructor takes into consideration the statistical results of the scores of the students who take the course and the scores they get from the midterm and final exams and the grades taken are converted into the 4 letter system within the framework of the principles specified in the regulation.
Graduation Requirements
To succeed in all of the courses listed in the curriculum of the program by getting the grade of at least DD with a minimum of 120 ECTS and to have a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2,00 out of 4,00.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates who have successfully completed the Child Development Program have the opportunity to be employed in pre-primary education institutions affiliated to the Ministry of National Education, private education institutions, children's clinics of the Ministry of Health, rehabilitation centers, institutions affiliated to the Ministry of Family and Social Policy.
Access to Further Studies
Graduates who have successfully completed the Associate Degree education can transfer to the undergraduate programs "Pre-School Education" or "Child Development and Education Teaching" of the universities on condition that they have enough points in the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS) made by the Center for Measurement, Selection and Placement (ÖSYM). Students who graduate from the Child Development Program are required to enter the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS) by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) in order to continue their undergraduate education from the 5th semester of formal education or open education undergraduate programs.
