Qualification Awarded
Students who successfully complete the Master's program of the Department of Medical Biology are awarded a Master's degree in Medical Biology.
Specific Admission Requirements
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in Medicine / Dentistry / Pharmacy / Veterinary faculties, and biology, molecular biology & genetics from the Faculty of Science or Sciences, or bioengineering from the Faculty of Engineering.
The undergraduate graduation score must be at least 2.00.
The ALES numerical score must be at least 55.
Qualification Requirements
The master's program with a thesis consists of at least seven courses, a seminar course, and a thesis study, provided that it is not less than 21 credits. Seminar courses and thesis work are non-credit and considered successful or unsuccessful. Provided that an academic year is not less than 60 ECTS credits, a master's program with a thesis is completed by taking at least 120 ECTS credits, including at least seven courses, seminars, and thesis studies. In addition, students must take at least one course during the course phase, including scientific research techniques and research and publication ethics.
Recognition of Prior Learning
With the opinion of the Board of Medical Biology Department and the approval of the Institute Board of Directors, the eligibility status is determined.

Our department has started accepting students in the 2020-2021 fall semester.
Profile of the Programme
The aim of the Master's program with Medical Biology Thesis is that the Department of Medical Biology is also working on the research of molecular mechanisms of genetic diseases, especially Cell Biology. It trains qualified researchers with sufficient knowledge in these fields. The master's field of medical biology trains scientists in line with its education programs and gains the ability to use advanced biology and molecular biology laboratories. The Department of Medical Biology strives to be innovative in its field by constantly renewing a learning and research activities for all students, employees and parties in the light of contemporary scientific developments in line with the goals of our university. In this context, it aims to equip the students who graduated from the program with certain qualifications and to make them active people who have individual initiatives and make decisions.
Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading
Evaluations in the Medical Biology master's program are made with a midterm and final exam. Success grade is calculated by taking 40% of the midterm exam and 60% of the final exam. In addition, make-up exams and make-up exams are administered when necessary. Exams can be given in the form of a written exam, homework or presentation.
