Qualification Awarded
Shipbuilding program is a Level 5-Associate degree program. Students who successfully complete the program are awarded the "Associate Degree in Shipbuilding".
Specific Admission Requirements
Students are accepted to the Shipbuilding program with the TYT score of the Higher Education Institutions Exam in Turkey.
Qualification Requirements
Academic education consists of four semesters. In order to obtain an Associate Degree, a student enrolled in the program must complete a total of 120 ECTS compulsory and elective courses, and a grade point average of at least 2.0 out of 4.00.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Students who have final registration to another Higher Education University at home or abroad where they have previously studied, if they apply within the first week, their credit and grade transfer requests will be evaluated by the relevant education unit's board of directors and a decision will be made on a one-time basis, covering their entire education is connected.
History
Bodrum Maritime Vocational School was established in Bodrum Ortakent Campus, affiliated to Mugla Sitki Kocman University, in 2011, with the approval of YOK, in order to train professionals who will work in the maritime field equipped with knowledge and skills, which the maritime industry needs in our country and in the world. Students are accepted to the Shipbuilding program of the Department of Motor Vehicles and Transportation Technologies in our school, starting from the 2020-2021 academic year.
Profile of the Programme
Shipbuilding Program graduate students primarily have knowledge of shipbuilding, technical drawing, workshop, ship geometry, ship production methods, ship propulsion systems, shipyard organization and management and new construction in line with the needs of the yacht building industry, which is a special field in the shipbuilding industry. and to equip them as technical personnel specialized in shipbuilding, and maintenance-repair issues.

Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading
Exams, evaluation and grading procedures are subject to Mugla Sitki Kocman University Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education Regulations.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates of the Shipbuilding program can work in shipyards, (ship and yacht) design offices, and sub-sectors serving in the field of a ship (yacht) maintenance and repair.
Access to Further Studies
Students who complete the program and graduate, if they are successful in the Vertical Transfer Exam given by ÖSYM, they gain the right to enroll in a suitable undergraduate program for the Shipbuilding program.
Mode of Study
