Qualification Awarded
Students who successfully complete this program will be awarded “an associate degree in Pharmacy Services”.
Specific Admission Requirements
Within the framework of the regulations set forward by the T.C. Council of Higher Education (YÖK), student admission to this program is determined through the central examination system conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Students are placed in the relevant programs by the ÖSYM according to the scores they get from this exam and based on their scores they apply and indicate their preferences for the particular program they want to study. Students are admitted to the program with the TYT (Basic Competency Test) score type.
Qualification Requirements
The student must have successfully completed all the courses in the program. In this program, the student must complete a minimum of 120 ECTS credits and a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00. There is an internship obligation of 30 working days in this program.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Previous educational experience and degree of the incoming students at another Higher Education Institution is and can be recognized within the framework of “Regulation on the Principles of Transfer between Associate Degree and Undergraduate Degree Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer" and "Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education Regulation". Exemption Exam for the required foreign languages is held at the beginning of each academic term in all higher education programs. Students who claim to be sufficient in particular language and meet the requirements for these courses have the option of taking the examinations. Students who choose to take the exam and pass it with satisfactory scores are considered exempt taking the necessary courses in the curriculum.
History
The Pharmacy Services Program, which is part of Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University's Vocational School of Health Services, will begin classes in the Fall Semester of 2021-2022, with a student quota of 40.
Profile of the Programme
The objective of the program is to train auxiliary medical personnel to work in laboratories, pharmaceutical sector, drug warehouses, offering drugs contained in prescriptions written by doctors to the patients, preparing the necessary medicines under the supervision of a pharmacist.

Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading
In this program; various evaluation methods such as midterm, homework, practice, project, practice and final exam are applied. Students are subjected to a midterm exam and a final exam for all courses. Assessment methods may include the classical exam, multiple choice exam,
homework, performance evaluation and product evaluation. The contribution of the midterm exam to the success grade is 40%, and the contribution of the end-of-year exam is 60%. All exams are evaluated over 100 points.
Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate, the courses specified in the program and a 30-day internship must be successfully completed. In order to successfully complete the program, it is necessary to successfully complete all of the courses (equivalent to 120 ECTS) in the program and obtain a weighted grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Students who graduated from the Pharmacy Services program can work as pharmacy technicians in pharmacies and private pharmacies in the public sector, hospitals, various health institutions, pharmaceutical companies, drug stores, industry sector, and various areas of the
service sector.
Access to Further Studies
Those who successfully complete the program have the opportunity to receive training in various undergraduate programs such as Biochemistry and Chemistry, according to the results of the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS)
Mode of Study
It is to train auxiliary medical personnel to be employed in laboratories, pharmaceutical sector, drug warehouses, offering drugs contained in prescriptions organized by doctors to the patients, preparing the necessary medicines under the supervision of a pharmacist.
The auxiliary medical personnel will be trained according to the following conditions to contribute in appropriate and informed consumption of the drugs during the treatment process. These conditions are:
- Educating in a scientific environment
- Training as employees who have via the necessary knowledge and equipment to have acquired professional skills
- On the one hand, education and job opportunities are provided and informed for our young people, while on the other hand, providing education in better quality, more scientific and better conditions.
