Master's Degree in Nursing Fundamentals
Specific Admission Requirements
Students who have a bachelor's degree from the School of Nursing, School of Nursing, Department of Nursing and Faculty of Nursing, who fulfill the application requirements in accordance with the Higher Education Council Graduate Education and Training Regulations and Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Graduate Education Regulations, will be accepted.
Students will be admitted to the master's program by taking a written and/or interview exam. The number of students to be admitted to the master's program and the qualifications to be sought in candidate students will be announced before the beginning of each semester. In this announcement, the application conditions and the deadline, the place and date where the candidates will be interviewed will be stated. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree and have at least 55 points from the relevant score type from the ALES centrally administered by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM), or a score equivalent to 55 ALES points from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Admission Test (CIMAT) exam. they must have. Students are required to get at least 40 points from the Foreign Language Proficiency Exam (YDS) or Higher Education Institutions Foreign Language (YÖKDİL) exam held centrally by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). In addition, the equivalence of undergraduate diplomas obtained from abroad must be approved by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). A candidate's scientific achievement grade will be calculated by adding 50% of the ALES score, 20% of the undergraduate average, and 30% of the written and/or interview grade. Qualification Requirements
1. Acquires theoretical and applied up-to-date knowledge in the field of Nursing Fundamentals, uses and develops this knowledge.
2. Evaluates the theoretical and applied knowledge gained in the field of Nursing Fundamentals with a critical approach within a scientific and ethical framework.
3. Transfers, interprets and develops the theoretical and applied knowledge gained in the field of nursing principles to the nursing process.
4. Interprets to create new information by integrating the knowledge he has in the field of Nursing Fundamentals with the knowledge from different disciplines, analyzes and synthesizes using different research methods and offers solutions.
5. Plans research in the field of Nursing Principles and the priority health problems of the society within the framework of professional development and lifelong learning principles, and chooses the right statistical methods while planning and doing this research.
6. Performs statistical analysis at a level that can read and evaluate a scientific article published in the field of Nursing Fundamentals, and follows evidence-based practices.
7. Observes social, scientific and ethical values ??and teaches these values ??in the stages of collecting, recording, interpreting and announcing the data related to the field of Nursing Principles.
8. Contributes to the solution of social, scientific, cultural and ethical problems encountered in the field of Nursing Principles by using problem-solving skills and scientific research methods.
9. Uses a foreign language at least at the C1 General Level of the European Language Portfolio.
10. Follows scientific, technological, social or cultural developments in the field of health and shares the information obtained with groups in or outside the field.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Upon the application of the student, the courses at the previous university are evaluated by the Graduate Integration Commission in terms of course content and course hours. If deemed appropriate, he/she is deemed to have passed the relevant courses in the curriculum of our department with the grade obtained from the previous university.
History
Nursing Fundamentals Master's Program with Thesis started education in the spring term of 2022. The duration of the program is two years, one year of which is lecture and one year is thesis. The language of the program is Turkish.
Profile of the Programme
Nursing Fundamentals Master's Program students are required to complete at least seven courses, a seminar and thesis work, apart from the field of specialization, throughout their education. The total number of ECTS required to obtain a master's degree is at least 120. Graduate students are given the title of Specialized Nursing Fundamentals (Msc).

Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading
It is determined by the responsible instructor of the course in accordance with Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Graduate Education Regulations.
Graduation Requirements
The Nursing Fundamentals Master's program includes four semesters of lecture and thesis periods. It consists of at least seven courses, a seminar course and thesis work for four semesters, with a total of not less than 21 credits. The seminar course and thesis work are non-credit and the student is evaluated as successful or unsuccessful. In the Master's Program with Thesis, a student who successfully completes a minimum of 120 ECTS in a maximum of six semesters, provided that at least seven courses, a seminar course and a thesis work, are not less than 60 ECTS credits in an academic year, provides the necessary qualification for graduation. The duration of the Master's program with thesis is four semesters, starting from the semester in which the courses are given, regardless of whether they are registered for each semester, and is completed in a maximum of six semesters. The evaluation of the courses and the thesis is carried out in accordance with the relevant provisions of the MSKU Graduate Education and Training and Examination Regulations.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Nurses who specialize in the field of Nursing Fundamentals work as clinical supervisors and executive nurses in the Ministry of Health, University and Private hospitals. They can work as an academician in the Faculties of Health Sciences of the universities, in the Department of Nursing Fundamentals in the Schools of Nursing, in the departments of nursing, midwifery and health officer in the Schools of Health.
Access to Further Studies
Candidates who have successfully completed their graduate education can study in the doctoral program, provided that they get a valid grade in the Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Examination (ALES) and foreign language exam.

Today, the ease of access to information and the shortening of the information renewal period have increased the need for evidence-based practices in the provision of services and made it necessary to train competent professionals who can produce information and use the produced information effectively. In this context, the Nursing Fundamentals graduate program; By understanding the four basic concepts of nursing, human, health, environment and nursing, it aims to train scientific experts who follow scientific developments in their field and have research knowledge and skills in order to protect the health of the individual/family and society and to meet the nursing care needs in case of health deterioration.
