Milas Vocational School Programme of Business Administration

Qualification Awarded

Students with at least 120 ECTS who successfully complete all the courses in the 2-year education plan are awarded associate's degree in Business Administration.

Specific Admission Requirements

The students are taken to the Vocational School of Business by the Central Placement Examination conducted by OSYM. Candidates for Centralized Placement are placed in OSYM, taking into account the YGS scores, preferences for higher education programs and the quotas and conditions of these programs. The records of the students who are placed in the Business Administration Program are made by the Student Affairs Office on the calendar frame determined by ÖSYM.

Qualification Requirements

In order to successfully complete the Business Management Program and obtain the Associate Degree, students must complete a total of 120 ECTS credits in the program so that they can successfully complete and graduate the entire course and obtain a weighted GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 and complete a 40-day professional internship.

Recognition of Prior Learning

The status of the students who have previously studied at another Higher Education Institution is defined as "Regulations Regarding the Principles of Transition between Programs in the Associate and Undergraduate Levels in Higher Education Institutions, Credit Transfer between Double Major, Minor and Minor Institutions" and "Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Undergraduate and Undergraduate Education Education Regulations".

History

The Milas Vocational School Management Program received its first students during the 2002-2003 academic year and gave its first graduates in 2004.

Profile of the Programme

This project, which is based on the fifth level vocational standards, aims to train students with knowledge, skills and equipments required by the enterprises, through the Human Resources Vocational Training Development Project (İKMEP).

Program Outcomes

4- Taking into account the main legal rules governing the legal framework of the business world, having jurisdiction and judicial responsibility for legislation related to the profession

6- To have knowledge about the basic methods used in accounting and their applications in business world
7- To be able to know the functions of marketing and its applications in business life, to make market research and to use the marketing communication required by them
8- Having usage knowledge of computer and necessary programs
9- Be able to apply the basic principles of business processes and project management techniques
10- Having effective communication skills in oral and written
11- To be able to make quality oriented approach plans in business structure
12- To be able to develop business analysis that can target the right investments in the sector and to make mathematical follow-ups

Exam Regulations & Assesment & Grading

Graduate students are required to take at least one midterm and a final exam for each course. Students must attend at least 70% of the theoretical courses and at least 80% of the applied courses in order to be able to take the final exam. The achievement grade, midterm (midterm grade, homework, laboratory exams, mini-exams, such as scores obtained from measurement tools can be evaluated). Contribution rates of the examinations are announced to the students every year as a decision of the relevant Board. Midterm examinations are usually applied to 40% of midterm examinations and 60% of semester examinations are applied as theoretical examinations, while midterm exams are applied as 25%, practical examinations are 25% and final examinations are 50% in applied courses. The relative system is used to evaluate the exams of our program. Accordingly, a student who has taken one of the letter grades AA, BA, BB, CB and CC is deemed to have completed that course. DC and DD grades are conditionally successful grades. The overall weighted average of the grades must be at least 2.0 for the student to have a DC or DD grade in order to be successful (in order not to have any obstacles to his graduation). The Management Program aims at marketing, finance, accounting in the private sector and public sector businesses in the business world , public relations, human resource departments, researchers, auditors and managers.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

The Business Management Program has the opportunity to work as a specialist, researcher, auditor and manager in the marketing, finance, accounting, public relations, human resources departments in private and public sector businesses in the business world in line with the competencies they have gained.

Access to Further Studies

According to the "Implementing Regulation on the Continuation of Undergraduate Education of Vocational Schools Graduates" published in the Official Gazette dated 19.02.2002 and numbered 24676 and the application principles determined by the Council of Higher Education on the transition to undergraduate education and examinations and placement related to the graduation of successful students graduating from Vocational Schools operations are carried out by ÖSYM. Students who graduated from Business Administration Associate's Degree Program can move vertically to relevant undergraduate programs in order to bring their vocational education to the top level. Mode of Study

Full-time structured associate degree education is given in Business Administration Program. The aim of the Business Management program is to train graduates to meet qualified human resources equipped with the knowledge and skills to meet the needs of businesses. For this purpose, the courses in the program are designed and designed to combine theory and practice. One of the most important goals of the program is to provide students with a training in the most up-to-date strategic, managerial and sectoral developments they may encounter in business life and to prepare them as manager candidates in the business world by giving them a management vision that is focused on today's and future business life.
